Thinking of doing a family vacation there this summer. Any suggestions on places to stay? Have heard a few people speak highly of the Watercolor Inn & resort, but it looks pretty booked up right now. Thinking of doing like a week. Hotel or condo or house rental? The Watercolor looked to be around $350-500 per night (which is fine), but curious if this is what I should expect from most of the places in the area? Restaurants to check out? What are some things to do in the area besides the beach? Have two kids (10 & 8 yr old). Appreciate any suggestions you could pass along. Even if it's negative (you didn't enjoy your time there--why?)
Man I live about an hour from here and we enjoy this area a lot. I have three little kids and we go to an area in Pensacola/Gulfbreeze called "Quiet Water" lately. It is a narrow little sound so there is no waves and great for little kids. I was swimming there last week actually. Beautiful sand and plenty of cool amenities around. Look into the Gulf Breeze area and boardwalk. We also go to Orange Beach often and enjoy it.
Just curious to why Santa Rosa? I dont know too much about it myself but its close to panama and destin. 350 is too much. I would stay at a resort right in the beach. Go crab hunting at night.
