DV, probably not, but you never know. It would really depend on how bad my 3rd and 4th outfielders were doing. Right now they are horrible with Alou at 1.5 and Finley at 2.8. Alou is really bringing me down. However, Griffey returns soon and I have high hopes for him to be around 2.7 to 3.0 fpg. Thus eliminating the need for Stewart.

I'll see if I can think of something for Ordonez.

DV, I couldn't think of anything that would be fair to us both, but boy did I try. If you think something up just send it my way.

SSG, If there is a way to get Maddux let me know. I'm interested in picking up a fifth starter that is quality. You may be asking too much considering his poor showing, but I''ll look at it anyway if you make a proposal. The only people I won't trade include my 4 starters (Wells, Colon, Lieber, and Martinez).

Who are your starting pitchers phi?

Maybe a smaller scale deal would help.

    As far as Koch

If I made dejean Jose Jimenez would it make a difference?

    Right now I have
    Lieber 17.0
    Pedro 21.6
    Colon 21.4
    Wells 17.0

    That's a pretty solid rotation

    D. Davis 15.2
    D. Burba 14.9
    Valdes 12.0

That's a completely undependable group at the 5, but respectable. All Three have played pretty poorly thus far, but they are all decent. I'm trying to move up into that 17-20.0 range or get a big name like maddux even tho he's only averaging 12.0

I have a reliever to spare (likely Koch or Williams)
and I have plenty of position players and flexibility to work with.

It's not about the backup reliever. I could go with two relievers all year and be relatively happy. I'm just looking to upgrade at OF or Pitcher. That's probably going to be tough for you to give me.

Well I like my rotation as

    Ortiz
    Garcia
    Dempster
    Tomko
    Penny
    Halladay

    are 6 good starters.

But id like a 2nd good reliever behind smoltz.

Well I figured stewart would be my chance since he is good and I now have Magglio, Drew and Abreu in my of which is very nice.

The guys I would definately trade for:
    Garcia 17.4
    Ordonez 4.0
    Chipper 3.1

    Maybe:
    Halladay 19.0
    Posada 2.8

    When he returns:
Maybe Stewart, but I would want to see him in action.

Phi, I can't trade Maddux he is finally healthy (I hope) and my big weakness is my pitching.

Yay! My first cheap one-point victory!

Looks like we're back to a five way tie for first.

Damn Bob, your pitchers wiped me out last night. Weaver with a 58 and Glavine with a 34 pretty much sewn up this game for you.

All right. Hands up if you've got a waiver claim in for Prior.

I'm starting a grass roots movement to not have this guy picked up off waivers all year so nobody put in a waiver for him and I promise I won't either:D

Prior? Never heard of this fellow.

Sounds fishy to me, like a bust waiting to happen.

    I don't know about y'all, but If I had a chance, I wouldn't touch him.

So, like I said, don't touch him. Well, actually, only two of you need to not touch him.

    I can't believe I'm frickin' 10th with a 7-8 record.

Did anyone read this news item from the Cubs page on ESPN.com:

After just one start, Cubs management has decided to send RHP Mark Prior back to AAA Iowa City. Said manager Don Baylor "His control just wasn't there. Instead of placing him under all this pressure, we're going to let him relax and hone his game in the minors, then bring him up to start next year."

He just sounds too risky to me.

My hitters are ranked #1 in total score, my pitchers are #4 in total score, overall I'm #2 in total points....and I'm in 8th place with a 7-8 record. Go figure.

    Bob,

We've got a real barn burner going on. Only an eight point difference between scores, and we both have our number 1 pitchers playing on the final day.

    Randy Johnson .vs. LA (Brown)
    Mike Mussina .vs. Boston (Oliver)

    5 IP, 8 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO

...equals -2 for the Big Unit. Or, if the DBacks miraculously come back and win, causing Randy to get a no decision instead of a loss, he'll finish with a whopping 3 points.

If Gagne gets the save, I think I've got our little game all wrapped up, regardless of how Mussina pitches tonight.

I went with 6 pitchers this last game because I had Rick Reed benched on waivers in case Prior dropped to me. So what happens? Reed pitches a complete game and scores 42 points.

    I lost by 41 points.
