As much as I like Urbina, I'm going to hang on to Zito and pray he starts getting some run support..

I will just try and survive with Graves and probably pick somebody else up later on.

Run support hasn't really been Zito's problem. Koch has been the problem. That dude blows more saves than Mike Vernon.

Well, like I said, I still want to hang on to Zito for now.

How attached are you to Kile? I'll trade you one of my relievers for him.

Well, I like him too, but he's probably more available than Zito. Those other relievers don't really interest me though since they are getting points at SP on sandbox.

    No they aren't.

If any pitcher starts a game, regardless of his categorization, he gets credited with a SP game. If any pitcher enters a game in which he doesn't start, he gets credited with a RP game.

Randy Johnson would have earned a RP game during the World Series when he pitched in relief in game 7.

If you remember, Matt Morris (or was it Freddie Garcia? one of them, anyway..) was classified as a RP for all of last year. However, since he was used as a starter, his games counted as SP games.

So don't let that deter you from Escobar or Gagne. Unless they become starters (not gonna happen ;) ), Sandbox will continue to treat them as relievers regardless of the SP/RP classification.

It was Matt Morris. He was listed as a relief pitcher (go figure) and I claimed him off waivers last year. He was listed as a relief pitcher but every time he pitched he counted as a starter.
    fade is correct.

The same thing is happeneing to Vicente Padilla this year - listed as a reliever, counted as a starter.

    My pitching sucks!!

Last game, I scored 120 points...119 by my hitters, and 1 single point from my pitchers.

I have three starters on the DL...Jamey Wright, Chan Ho Park, and John Burkett.

    well behad,

I wouldn't be too high on anyone of those 3 unfortunately, maybe burkett but hes even a risk at that age, I hope shane does well for you, but I wanted johnson insurance and olerud was an easy decision for me with my pitching depth.

I'm just glad I got the win.

That's the problem, DV. I have all the hitters in the world, but no pitching.

Maybe I should rename my team the Texas Rangers.

You should have grabbed D'Amico before fade did. He is primed for a decent year with that Met offense. You had him last year and he got injured, once bitten twice shy perhaps?

I have two very good pitchers available. Abott and Sele. Just make me an offer and you'll be right back in the mix...

Phi, I'm gonna stick with what I have for now. If Park and Burkett return soon, I think they can give me as much points as I could get by trading for someone, without giving up any of my hitters.

BTW, Mark McLemore is a really good player to have, because he gives me so much flexability in my lineup. I can play him at 5 different positions.

Also, even though he is only batting .150, Chuck Knoblauch is scoring 4.2 FP/game. He was a 25th round draft choice.

One more thing: Ellis Burks is highly underated as a hitter. 4.2 FP/game from an 18th round draft choice.

If my pitchers begin to show up a little, I'm gonna run away with this league!

Eric Gagne - R - Los Angeles Dodgers Apr 13

Manager Jim Tracy made it offical yesterday: Eric Gagne is now the Dodgers' closer.

"The ninth-inning job is his to lose," Tracy said. "I told you guys (Thursday) that there were still a lot of different scenarios that I was still going through in my mind, different situations that I was looking for. I think for the time being he definitely answered my question that it's his ball to get in the ninth inning." Gagne should be a very valuable pitcher this year.
