Horrific means "causing horror" -- when stupid and pointless articles cause you horror, then maybe it's time to back away from the computer, man... The interwebs is a very dangerous place for you. ;)

Folks are jealous of Harden especially in the sports world news column writers most of which can't play a lick of basketball past grade school level

You should be charged with false escalation.

That's just a terrible and blind answer for such an otherwise smart basketball guy.

His own teammate MJ used to be excellent at getting to the foul line, as was Larry Bird.

Then you had guys like Adrian Dantley (lifetime, more than 1 FTA for every 2 FGA) and Mark Aguirre (wrath of God) who lived at the foul line with their clever mid-range flail games as well.

I'm surprised there is so much historical fail in Kerr's answer. Harden must be getting under his skin a little.

Exactly. Curry would have been hand checked like crazy, and would have been hit a lot more on shot attempts had he played in the past. Both players would have had to adjust to the rules of their era. It doesn't mean they wouldn't have been effective. Talent finds a way to adapt. Harden and Curry are both very talented and most likely would have been successful in the past as well.

It was a different era... guys weren't trying to JUST draw the foul and take the free throws.... guys drove and were willing to take the contact and try to draw the foul - but their first priority was trying to score the bucket - because they may or may not get the whistle... they let a lot more go...

I'm not a fan of this whole just try to get the foul call stuff... it's not as bad as the CP style fake the foul n flop... but I would still rather see Harden trying to score the bucket and try to get the +1 than just draw the contact and flail...
