Nope. That's a straight up gay joke. But don't worry, half my humor goes undetected anyway.

They are not necessarily within walking distance of the Legion (I would walk it, but I love walking in this town). The good thing about both places I mentioned is that they are close to GEARY: your public transportation salvation On the entire north side of the city.

As for romantic, AVOID fisherman's wharf. That place stinks, and it is an obvious tourist trap. Go to north beach (much less obvious tourist trap :) ), and catch dinner at a smallish Italian place (just look a good one up in Zagat's guide -- there are so many).

Oh, and everyone should post more gay jokes. We never see those jokes in San Francisco. lol! :)

And the one in downtown San Jose, down the street from SJSU. Not to mention the one on University Dr. in Palo Alto.

Trip was FANTASTIC. I actually came back and replied to this, but my ISP went down as I was about to click reply. So I got lazy and didn't retype.

I played in Sausalito, went to Chinatown, spent a good amount of time at Fisherman's Wharf slamming beers and eating clammy clam chowder from a sourdough bowl, saw the sea lions, took a million pics, saw Alcatraz, toured the WWII liberty ship and the USS Pompanito sub, spent a full day at Sonoma Valley and went to some very beautiful wineries and vineyards - that was the BEST day of all. My last night I had some fantastic italian food in little Italy. It was a jam-packed trip.

Overall, for the price, I give the trip a 9.5. Thanks to all of you for the suggestions.

    Did you say cool beans?

I hit Kunde, Valley of the Moon, Chatea St. Jean, Blackstone, and the Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves.

All of them were worth the visit. I was a bit disappointed with Blackstone though. Chateau St. Jean and Gloria Ferrer were beatiful places.
