My best friend lives in Camarillo. I've been trying to reach him but I haven't heard from him. I'm sure he's OK. Anyone familiar with Cali know if Camarillo is being affected by these fires?
did anyone watch cnn last night. morans do anythign for ratings. they had one of their own reporters stand in front of his own house that was burning down. lovely example they're setting, especially when they're telling everyone else to get out.
That was on CBS I believe, they showed a clip of it on Fox News too. The guy was describing what his house was like before the fire as it was burning down.

Ummm yeah I've been watching that local channel all along and he had been reporting on the fires all along. The news stations have reporters all over the county reporting WITH the firefighters and with permission from them. They've even helped the firefighters pull hose and do other things throughout this thing. I'm sure the one thing this guy was thinking as his house that he had lived in for 29 years burned up in flames was ratings This guy was reporting and the firefighters let him do a report from the house like they did for 100s of other houses around here. I think you should know what the hell you're talking about or STFU.
you're right. it's not for ratings. "hey, let's have our own people stand in the middle of the fire b/c it'll give our audience a sense of how intense this is!" why do firefighters need overweight news anchors to help with pulling hoses? it just endangers those who have no idea what the **** their doing. you dont' think he could report the same thing a few miles away from the fire? it would be much safer and make much more sense. there's a reason firefighters urge people to leave their houses. people die from fires, moran. why the hell are you so sensitive? i wasn't making fun of his house burning down, jeez. i was criticizing why he was reporting it.
why people take issue with reporters being at the scene of things like this is beyond me. its always been that way, and always will. war, fires, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, riots. its how things work, and it ain't changing.
i don't have a problem with it. i'm just saying it's part of getting ratings. i know the guy doesn't like having his house burn down, but what is he going to report that's different from any other house burning down?
I heard on the radio this morning about an anchor reporting about the fires from his own burnt down house. That's just surreal to me.
so wtf is your point? they shouldn't go for higher ratings, or more compelling stories? i just don't get what you're out to say here
I saw this yesterday, it was local news and it was live. I don't know how that gets ratings any higher, I mean, people are already glued to their tvs over there trying to find out important info.
