“@WojYahooNBA: Sam Dalembert's 2-year deal w/ Houston pays $7M in '11-12, w/ team option for $7M in '12-13, sources say. *If option declined, $1.5M buyout.” And we get a contract that Morey can use to eat salaries-- sort of like the non-guaranteed last year on Dampier's contract, which Cuban used to acquire Tyson Chandler from a cost-cutting Bobcats team.

Excellent.
None of you guys should hate on this deal too much. Or like it too much, for that matter. My guess is Sammy D. won't be here very long. One year at best before he's moved elsewhere as part of a deal for a REAL center.
That's not a bad deal for him at all, I'm excited! Y'all need to quit being debbie downers. We wouldn't have been horrible enough to get a top 5 pick, so I'd much rather us make the playoffs. I miss playoff basketball!!
All I'm saying the overall talent available in the lottery in 2012, is a lot more promising then the projected talent of 2013. Given that a lot of the top freshmen of this year and last year (notably Barnes, Jones, Sullinger.), will be coming out to the 2012 draft. Guys like Austin Rivers, Quincy Miller, Micheal Gilchrist, etc. are being projected as mid to late lottery picks. This are the type of players that are usually gone with in the top 5-6 in past drafts.
Exactly. It would have made no sense to go with the status quo. The options were 1) trade everyone and tank or 2) find the best available C. Murray is continuing the same strategy.
Would you trade your 14th pick for a 31 year old 8/8 C that no one else wanted? That's what Mr MIT did...lol..wth man.
