It should be less, much less. His only other option was signing with the Heat for the minimum.

Don't start drinking just yet. Read some of the "We're Now A Playoff Team!" posts first.

I wanna watch winning basketball. If it means we dont get a high pick so be it. We have enough pieces to win games this year. We get better with this move. I also believe that Dalembert is a solid player and could be tradeable as an additional piece to a bigger trade. As long as we did not over pay for him....

They're not blowing it up. If you have a problem with that direction, there's certainly a lot of threads debating whether or not it's the correct philosophy.

Given that they intend to remain competitive, this is a good move (unless it's true about Dalembert getting super fat, then it might be bad...)

Eh, we were still going to be mediocre and we're still holding out for that 'superstar trade', but at least we have a serviceable starting center who can protect the rim and help out on defense.

Here's some old footage from when he first went to the kings:

At the end of the day, I agree it is a 'float' move. I guess after the vetoed trade and the lockout my expectations for this team are gone and I'm just happy to have an NBA season and see the Rockets play better defense. How much weight has it been reported he put on?

No because I am not a fan of sam D game

I see why we signed him considering our opinions and how this off season has gone. Season starts in 4 days so guess some team had to sign him.

I'm not happy about the move nor am I mad. I get it.

Still just a mediocre rocket squad. No true star or a good team.

Gasol and nene would have been fun to watch or Mark n pau but oh well thanks stern.

Sam D. It is. Let's roll. Go rockets and hope for the best.

Guest I will pick up Martin in my fantasy league since he is the only legit scoring threat we have.

Before someone burns me. I like Lowry and Scola just as a consistence point of view night in night out. Pure scorer.

It is sad when Clutch is depressed about a legit free agent pick-up that he doesn't have a photoshop of Dalembert in a Rockets jersey, yet.

    so sad....this season.

Don't get this signing. I thought we were gonna enter a season of development and rookie training. Now we sign Dalembert for another crappy 16-14 lotto pick. Why not just let Hill and Thabeet see PT and see how they develop?

WHATS THE FRIGGIN POINT OF OBTAINING 'ASSETS' IF YOU DONT AT LEAST RAISE THEIR VALUE BY PLAYING AND DEVELOPING THEM??

Sorry, this trade is making me mad right now. And no, Dalembert is not better than what we had at C last season. We're still gonna be a crappy team. This is not gonna make us a playoff team.

Sam Dalembert's 2-year deal w/ Houston pays $7M in '11-12, w/ team option for $7M in '12-13, sources say. If option declined, $1.5M buyout.

Now we apparently have to put a stipulation in his contract to wear an ankle bracelet. Any time he enters a donut shop or Chik Fil*A, the contract is voided.

I don't think they were intending on blowing it up even before signing Sammy D. You can't really tank with this group unless you get rid of Lowry, Scola, Martin and Patterson for only draft picks.

I think the calculation is to put together the best team that they can without getting anyone on a stupid contract so that they can look for future "Gasol Trades."

I'm ok with that. Needed a 7 footer who can protect the rim, that is a necessity with Luis Scola as your 4.

    Good contract terms.
