Wish we could pair Sammy D with Pau Gasol that's a good offense to defense twin tower right there. If we got him for $8 mill then I'm happy. Remember, Kwame Brown just signed a $7 mill contract. Kwame Brown!
If there is a team option or partial guarantee on that second year I'd say we're in great shape. Samuel Dalembert does stick us in 8th seed/lottery purgatory but considering some of the deals that get thrown at centers these days I'm sure this signing will be worth our time.
Are you ****ing kidding me, I would much rather give them our first rounder in 2013, than 2012. Hell, I'll even go as far as to say I would prefer the 14th pick in 2012, then 7th or 8th pick in 2013. That's how deep and talented the 2012 draft is.
In game condition, I have no doubt that Dalembert will substantially help this team. Remember, we have no problems scoring. If he can rebound, block shots and generally protect the paint, we will make the playoffs.
On the postive side, Sam being Haitian means maybe he can introduce the Rockets to some good voodoo doctors. The current "scientific doctors" aren't working out all that well so we should try something different.
Thats not what "deep draft" means. It means there are 3-4 guys in the top 8 or so that could be all stars. You aren't going to get anything special at #14 in 2012.

awexler Adam Wexler Rockets sign a legit defensive C who obviously makes them better, yet it's totally understandable there's as many happy as angry about it
