How is he overpaid? he's a defensive 6'11 center who gets 10/10 and a block or 2 per game for 6.5 mill a year, not overpaid at all, a steal compared to a lot of the other centers that were signed this of season, ala kwame brown who is getting paid 7 mill.

I would have been alright if they had paid more to get him. Seems like the perfect contract for a starting center of his caliber actually.

GJ ROCKETS. we did it. we ended up with a good deal after stern messed up a potential good trade. this one may prove to be better since we still have scola and martin. now just start twill

Actually if Kwame Brown is getting 7.8 million a year, the Dalembert is money well spent. He is light years better then Kwame. Dalembert can easily be a 10-10-2 blocks a player this season.

What other Cs are you talking about? Dalembert probably has the best salary/production ratio center in the league right now (apart from Gortat). You know what kind of big men teams are getting for 6.5M? Guys like Kwame Brown and Desagana Diop, that's what. Hell Toronto is paying 9M for Andrea Bargnani, and he's 3x worse than Dalembert.

The main reason I'm against Dalembert is he might be a Brad Miller signing, he might not perform as expected and we would have been stuck with a 10M-ish contract for the next 3 years. What DM offered him though was below market value, essentially a 1 year contract with a 1M buyout. For a caliber of what Dalembert can be (when he has head on straight) that's fan-freaking-tastic. It doesn't even hurt our cap flexibility next year.

IMHO this is definitely DM making lemonade from lemons Stern handed him. Dalembert+Scola+Kmart+Dragic+pick is better than Nene+Gasol.

That's different because Nene and Gasol are not perfect fits but Gasol and Dalembert would be lethal.

    Offense and Defense.....

Better than Nene, glad we signed him. On the other hand, we win more games and are stuck in mediocrity for two+ years without developing potential talents like Hill/Thabeet.

This I do not agree. Samuel has played 80 games regularly but only for 30 minutes a game.
There will be minutes for everyone.

Defensively, like shotblocking and rebounding, yes he is.

    Offensively, that's another question.
