Very frugal signing. I'm okay with it.

We better keep Greg Smith, that's all I am saying...

I think we're going to cut him, bring him in to Rio Grande and monitor his progress there.

Great move by the Rockets to get Dalembert, a top flight shot blocker and rebounder, for a decent price. Hopefully McHale can convince him to pass more than he did when he played.

I like this signing. Dalembert is an athletic, tall, long big who will help out the Rockets. Good that it is only a two year contract, so no long term commitment.

    Good job Morey.

    Lowry/Dragic
    Martin/Lee
    Budinger/Williams/Morris
    Scola/Patterson
    Dalembert/Hill/Thabeet

I guess Flynn, Lin, Parsons, Smith, Taylor and Adrian for the last three spots.

Doesn't seem so bad now. Rockets are so making a big deal at the deadline.

I really think we have many good players on our roster. Rockets definitely will make playoff with this roster and possibly make a title run. We just got to believe in Rockets. Here's my starting and backups lineup.

    Lowry/Dragic/Lin
    Martin/Lee/T-Will
    Budinger/Parsons
    Scola/Morris/Adrien
    Dalembert/Patterson/Thabeet/G. Smith

    Go Rockets!

it's easy to trade a 1.5m option, you give $3m to a team with cap room and some impossible round 2 provision to take it off your hands.

Another thing to take note of is that Sam Dalembert is a high-character guy. He flew all the way down to Haiti after the earthquake to help out with the relief efforts, and won the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for that.

Also, Dalembert will essentially be playing in a contract year. Want to know another mediocre center who churned out a quality year in a contract year? Tyson Chandler.

With 35 minutes per game, I feel fairly confident he can average a double-double and 2 blocks. We really needed a legitimate starting center like Dalembert. It will be interesting to see where this team goes with a legitimate rim protector.

Would you package Budinger, Patterson, Thabeet (for salary filler), and a pick for him? It might take a package like that to pry him away.

According to McHale, Jordan Hill will continue to start at center. Its his job to lose; Dalembert doesn't get the job automatically just because his 7'0.

I don't think we need him now. I thought it would be funny to reunite the old Philly connection.

One way to look at this signing is I wonder if there are any Dalembert groupies that will become members here now that he's a Rocket.

    Something tells me, no.

I know he gambles on D, but his intensity on D is really what JVG would have loved about him. He is a good fit on a scrappy team.
