Morey overpaid. Dalembert's only other option was the minimum from the Heat. This deal eats into next seasons cap space if he isn't traded.

There is no real downside to this deal.
To put things into perspective think about Chandler's $60mil/4yrs for a little more consistency and better defense. How about Kwame's 7 mil.

Just sad that this was consolation prize.

My guess is that Sammy always preferred Houston over Sacto if money is roughly equal. Maybe he prefers living in a bigger city or wants to play on a competitive team. The Kings are young and probably would prefer to give minutes to the youngsters, even at the cost of winning.

Strange "boomerang" offseason: Scola, Martin and Dragic got traded, then they are back. Sammy is rumored to be giving up on the Rockets, now he's a rocket. My guess is Chuck Hayes is the next guy to boomerang back to us.

Hell, maybe Yao Ming, too. Who knows. It's been that kind of year.

2 Years I will say Yes and No, It is an just ok deal for both of us. Sammy is a good player, and he will definitely help us out. But the goal of our team is clearly to trade for a all-star right now, and the longer we sign Sammy, the longer we are going to rebuild. 2 Years deal really means the Rockets haven't figured out their next target after Pau.

So we can safely cross off the "Hurts 2012 cap room" negative of the move. All that's left now is: "Costs you your draft pick" and "Less development time for young players."

Obviously now they're willing to make marginal improvements in order to make the playoffs. They'll have some expirings, so maybe they'll be able to pull something off before the deadline. They better do something big soon... I'm starting to question what in the world this team is doing exactly.

We want to go for Howard or others. I wounder if Oklahoma could keep all players they have. They need give up one or two when they become expensive, then we can go for them if we can not get Howard.

I am not sure, we lose on offense but he is a better defender than Gasol.....

LOL. Actually, I have no correlation with the name Sammy. One of my buddies started this account when I was 19. We all lurked with the username but I was the only one that posted from the beginning.

I'm not a big Sam fan at all, I'm just happy we don't have complete garbage starting at C.

It would have been truly scary to watch. Truly scary.
