What a steal. I thought all along if we signed him it had to be a 2 year deal around $8-$9 million with team option for the 2nd year. I really like this move since it doesn't hurt out cap space next year and we have a legit 7 footer in the paint

Nice! I'm glad we have a team option for '12-13, I don't want to be stuck with this guy for more than a year if something better arises.

I was against signing the guy unless it's a deal that allows us flexibility after this season. Now that it turns out that it is a deal like that, I am happy with it. That's why Morey is a great GM.

But I guess we are not tanking this season. Time to change the signature.

It's not. Miami could only offer the minimum and the Kings released a statement they were not interested.

Look Morey is excellent at scouting and drafting.

He wouldnt of traded away the pick if anything decent was going to be there.

This Dalembert situation got very bizarre at the end. Very curious to hear how it all unfolded. I spoke w/Sam this morn & he was frustrated.

    LOL

If you think Hill and Thabeet are useless (which they might be), then Morey is not as infallable as everyone makes him out to be.

In fact, sometimes I wonder why Morey acquired Thabeet and Flynn in particular. Which is why it infuriates me when moves contrary to the development of these players are made. What direction are you going in, Morey? You pick up all these projects but don't 'finish' them, so to speak.

$7 million/per year, and only two year long. This is a just great deal for a center position. We still have some money for next moves, and I like it.

This could turn out poorly. Players feeling they were wronged in free agency have sulked through the season.

They have some untapped potential. More importantly, they're expiring contracts after this season.

Ok. Like Orlando would take a pupu platter consisting of Dalembert when there's a lot more attactive offerings to be had around the league. Chicago, heck even Lakers with Gasol + Bynum would be more attractive.

But all of those guys were picked up for basically nothing, and the deals they were inolved in had other pieces we were more interested in.

They were basically no-risk throw-ins with some upside.

It still is a good deal for us. If anything he will be a good trade chip to get draft picks. Especially since this will technically be a contract year for Dalembert and hopefully he will play like he wants another one this year.

Awesome signing! I'm proud of you front office :) we just got more arsenal for the many back to backs. Stoked! If one big won't work, another one will take its place. Survival of the fittest.

I don't think so. It's basically a contract year for Sam. I doubt that he wants throw his career in the gutter.
