Guessing they used the same batteries in the Edge as the did the Note. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...g-after-suffering-burns-from-exploding-phone/
Geeze, I was so close to getting the Edge. Got the standard S7 instead. Still, this makes me feel uneasy.
You have a fire hose right next to your pocket. What's the big deal? The common quote from Samsung..."we've never heard of this happening before". Umm...wrong! My magic eight ball says...."Unlikely!".
I wonder how they're going to get away with saying that they never heard about this when we reported it 2 months ago. I just hated the nonchalant approach they took.
Wow, that's an awesome video. (Embed version below.) Almost looks like a terrorist, homemade chemical weapon. If this happened in your pants ... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1ueOV0EpdPs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Lol at all the Samsung people from the Apple thread last week. Return your phones before someone gets hurt.
It's one video. Not every phone is going to magically start combusting. I'm not thrilled with Samsung right now though, that much I'll give you.
Will samsung recover from this scandal? It would be a good time for LG or other android manufacturers to start some intense marketing.
Southwest.com's website now has this on the homepage: TRAVEL ALERT:Southwest encourages Customers traveling with Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to follow the FAA’s recommendation not to turn on or charge these devices onboard and not to stow them in checked baggage. Customers can also refer to the FAA Pack Safe guidelines to learn more about hazardous materials restrictions and compliance with applicable regulations.
it depends on how it was reported...you can't be sure how your complaint was classified by the person with whom you spoke with...if complaints are filed/described/reported inaccurately, then the people upstairs won't hear about it...
It's already being banned by a couple airlines I know of. Don't know how they will control it. Can't expect to check everyone's pockets before boarding a plane.
Holy crap. That image is unreal, OP. If that happened to me, I'd contact an attorney. Hope he has photos of the pants. Was he burned at all? Guess he couldn't take pictures of what happened with his phone!
