Every TV manufacturer has the same feature and rename it something else. For Example that 120hz TVs : for Sony 'Trumotion' for Samsung Auto - Motion I don't know what DLNA is , but its Samsung had this DNie thing that artificially enhances the picture, it works well on certain things and its terrible on other things
No - the Samsung 750 has a network connection in the back. You plug the TV into your home network and you can stream pics, music, and vids to the TV through the network.
Beware that site, apparently they add around 5% of the total for insurance (on top of the already paid shipping cost). http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Shop_Digital_Online
Thanks. Ugh. It's looking more and more like I'm not going to be able to make the jump to HD as I had planned to do after Thanksgiving. The TV's with features I want just aren't priced low enough.
Buy the LN52A650. Regardless of this issue, the 7 series is a new model, so the panel should definitely be from S. The 6 series otoh, I'm not too sure. I remember the LN52A650 was $4,000 earlier this year and now they're $2,0000 on amazon. I guess they had to cut costs somewhere to sell them that cheap in roughly half a year? I still want a LN46A650 and will most likely purchase one next month unless there's a better deal on a Sony W100.
oh yeah that's right. Sony has something like that coming out where you can stream data and movies from their service to your bravia. http://www.tvpredictions.com/sony101508.htm News Sony to Stream Hancock In HD On Bravia The movie will be available prior to the Blu-ray release. By Swanni Washington, D.C. (October 15, 2008) -- Sony is allowing owners of Net-connected Bravia HDTVs to download a high-def edition of Will Smith's Hancock prior to its Blu-ray or DVD release. The studio said the movie would be available for rent for a 24-hour period for $9.99 from October 28 until November 10. The film will not be available on DVD or Blu-ray until November 25. To download Hancock and other Net-based videos, a $300 Internet Video Link module must be attached to the back of the Bravia set, enabling Net access. However, for Bravia owners who download the film, Sony is throwing in a free Blu-ray disc of the movie by mail after it's released on November 25. The Blu-ray edition will retail for $39.95. Sony says Hancock will be available in 720p HD for owners with high-speed connections and two different standard-def versions for lower speed homes. The Blu-ray disc will be available in 1080p, which offers a sharper picture. The company said it's considering streaming other films on the same day they are released on DVD. The decision to bypass DVD rental stores and TV providers such as cable and satellite operators is guaranteed to stir controversy and spark speculation that Sony is not fully behind Blu-ray, or at least suggest the company is hedging its bets. However, Sony said in a statement that the Hancock streaming offer "demonstrates Sony's unique ability to combine its innovative hardware with content created by its own movie studio."
Kinda, but that's streaming the movie (for rent) from sony's site (or some other site). I want to stream across the network from my pc.
hrmf... are you saying that the LN52A650 won't have the same "S" "A" and "C" issues? From the OP's comments, it sounds like ALL Saumsung LCD's in this family are subject to that problem. .. and I don't like the idea of paying almost the same price for the LN52A650, when it has less features than the 750.
Well, if the LN52A650 (or other good 52" LCD) was $400 less than the 750, I'd be interested in getting it and buying an additional device to do the streaming. But I'm not finding that, either.
The second article that the OP linked to explains how to determine it. http://www.bcchardware.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4259&Itemid=40
Technically, this describes how to look for it if you have that monitor, not the TV. It could be the same for the TV..not sure..but I guess I'll find out when I get home from work. Praying for the S...as I have the exact model the OP is referring to for the tv.
Well, check out your 550 and let me know what you think. Ugh. How in the world am I gonna be able to ensure that it's an "S" 750 before I purchase? And that makes it nearly impossible to price-shop. Damn you, Samsung!
I got the 46" D64 series. There's probably more knowledgable people on here who can tell you what is or isn't good on it but I don't have any issues with it. From what I'm reading the 94 series is supposed to be an upgrade to the D64 series. I'm looking at a 52" 94 series for my upstairs game room so If you get one be sure to let me know how you like it.
We just got a LN52A750 and I just read this so I'm kinda concerned now. Anyway to find out if ours is one of those crappy panels?
