Update: A new batch of rumored specs have surfaced over on GSM Arena, and these seem to be more in line with what we'd expect of a new Nexus. According to an anonymous Google employee, that 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display mentioned above is just about the only spec to make the final cut. The processor, however, is more likely to be a dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos (that's right) with an accompanying dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics chip. That rear facing camera? Try 8 megapixels with a newly beefed up sensor. The handset should also ship with a girthy 2,050mAh battery fully capable of juicing this apparent LTE / CDMA / GSM Android monster.

Now the tech websites are stating there will be a Verizon version, and one for GSM carriers.

Also, I found this on Android Activist (Probably Fake, but looks nice)

    hehe :)
You are talking about the Samsung BEAM, which I got to play with already this past Saturday. Texas Instruments had it out for demo

It's AMAZING, you can project the image out onto the wall, and start touching the wall and interact with what you see. It's unlike anything I've seen before.

IMO, it was outdated the second they confirmed it would remain a 3G phone.

If you're getting a new smartphone (esp on a 2yr contract) from this point on that doesn't have LTE (and a battery that can handle it, Thunderbolt FTL), you're going to feel foolish in short order.

3G is about to go the way of dial up as media streaming explodes on handset. Seeing as the iPhone is the most multimedia-centric of all devices, it's crazy that they didn't make more of an effort to go LTE.

I assume that next year's iPad3 and iPhone5 will be LTE, and they just wanted to be certain they could get the battery life optimized without adding bulk. But they're starting to lag more and more in terms of spec....starting to look like the Nintendo of mobile phones.

"Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11. Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product. We would ask for the understanding of our clients and media for any inconvenience caused. We will announce a new date and venue in due course.

Honestly tho, LTE is still a very new technology. It still isn't available in most markets (and the markets in which it is available, the radius isn't that large and signal strength isn't great throughout). 18 months into a 2-year contract, people are eligible for an early upgrade. Purchasing a non-LTE phone now and upgrading then is not a completely horrible decision imo. 18 months isn't that far away and by the time it hits, LTE will be developed and battery/signal should be optimized for daily usage similar to what we are used to on 3G/3G+ (then again, I recently purchased an HSPA+ capable phone so maybe that is my justification. While HSPA+ may not be blazing fast, it is as faster than my home DSL connection which is good enough for me right now).

Yeah if the 4S had LTE, it would be future-proofed (while this seems more like the original iPhone which was dead within a year of arrival) BUT it isn't that bad a purchase as you are making it out to be imo (especially on my carrier AT&T if the T-Mobile acquisition slows down the LTE rollout on AT&T)

Very different story on Verizon than AT&T. Verizon LTE is in nearly every major and mid-major city in the US.

Yes sir, LTE is on over 100+ markets already.

Sprint only has 80 I think, and they've been out since late 2008
