    $750 is a lot for a phone. That's all I'm saying. I think $500 is a lot for a phone.

Just checked and I don't see it for 0.01. Did they take it down already? Does it have to be a new contract or updated?

They started changing the prices on the higher end phones yesterday on Amazon, what a clusterf**k. My brother and sister and I tried to set up a family plan and transfer to Sprint and it was a bunch of agony for no payoff.

First they canceled the order because they said we couldn't have 4 android phones on one plan for some reason, and that to just reorder after it was canceled. Then the price went up on the Galaxy SII. One good thing is Amazon's customer service did change the price for us, but Sprint rejected my brother. His credit is good, so I guess he got a question wrong during this weird background check thing he had to do on the phone with Sprint. It was like they were making sure he was eligible for government security clearance. Way overboard questions like verifying who his roommates were in college or something. How do they have information like that? ***** those assholes.

Lol seriously? Sprint accepts anyone which is weird. When I first turned 18 I was able to open an account with no deposit.

Just in time to w**** myself for some reddit karma on my reddit birthday, too!

Note: picture taken with old phone whose camera is not so good.

Anyone have any curiosities or questions about the Galaxy Nexus that I could answer? Obvious ones:

    - Yes, it's pretty big, but it fits in my pocket just fine and is extremely thin (I keep thinking I'll snap it in two).
    - Yes, the 3G and 4G work fine with T-Mobile. All I had to do was put in my SIM Card.
    - I bought it here. They kindly included an EU-to-US power adapter for free since the phone is from the EU.

    congrats, looks beautiful :)

I guess quick questions, does the device only MTP mode when plugged in to USB instead of Mass Storage mode?

How long does it take to get a full charge?

Do you have the model number of the battery? Wanted verify to see if its used on another Samsung device to get cheap aftermarket batteries from Ebay.

What's your overall feeling about the phone/OS? Nice Hybrid between the Gingerbread and Honeycomb?

It can do both. Instead of "Mass Storage", it's called "Camera (PTP)" but works exactly like mass storage. I can access the entire internal storage via USB.

I just charged it for about 45 minutes and the charge went up ~40%. I'd guess 1.5 - 2 hours for a 0 to 100% charge, which seems pretty quick to me. I was surprised.

It's unlikely the battery is used on any other Samsung device except perhaps the Nexus S because the battery has the NFC in it. I believe the Nexus S is the only other phone they make with the NFC.

A lot of the text on the battery is in chinese (not korean, ironically), but the two that seem like they could be model numbers are GB/T18287-2000 and EB-L1F2HVU. I don't think which one is the model number, if either.

I really like ICS. Like, a lot. The coolest thing, IMO, is the data usage statistics. Incredibly useful if you're on a capped usage carrier like AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile (yes, they don't hard cap, but there's a soft cap that can slow you down).

Otherwise, a lot of the different things that you do with the phone are a lot more intuitive. I was puzzled as to where to change the Live Wallpaper as I typically pressed the menu button while on the home screen to do it, but I just pressed and held on the background and could change it that way... maybe it was like that on Gingerbread already, though. Regardless, there are a lot of things that are just generally more intuitive. It's very smooth and on the 1280x720 resolution, it looks simply amazing.

cool, thanks for the info, getting more pumped with the reviews I've seen from others

fwiw, you could change to live wallpaper same way you did since Eclair, pressing and holding to empty spot in the home screen, choose Wallpaper, and gives u option for Live and standard Wallpaper :)

I'm so jealous lol. Looks awesome though.

Here is something that I'd love for you test.

Samsung GPS chips have a problem with obtaining locks under 5 meters. Why? I have no idea but I've used an Epic 4g, Epic 4g touch, Droid Charge, and Samsung Fascinate. The GPS refuses to lock under 5 meters even when my moms Sensation, and my Droid Incredible would like at 1 or 2 meters when outside.

So my question is, can you go outside download "gps status and toolbox" and let me know if you get a lock under 5 meters?

I got ICS working on my Droid Incredible. R2doesinc got HW acceleration working last night as of 4:00 a.m. so I've been toying with ICS on an original HTC Snapdragon phone

I have no idea how to use that app, so I don't know where the "lock" is specified. Here's a screenshot of it, though... maybe it'll help?

0/3 is bad. It means you're not even locked on to any satellites. Were you outside? It shows up in meters after you have locked onto a few satellites

    It should look like this

Notice that I locked on to as close as 3 meters. I've NEVER seen a Samsung go under 5 meters. Samsung loves to use spirent-lcs as their SUPL address for their GPS chips so that causes slow locks, but I'm having trouble digging deeper into the issue.

If anyone with a Samsung Android phone can download GPS Status and Toolbox and show me that you locked on to under 5 meters, please let me know. I'm gathering some information and would actually love it if you proved me wrong.
