Oh, and the only way Rockets take his contract is either with Deng, or 2 1st rounders and a happy meal with Morey's favorite toy
I could be dead wrong on this, but I really do believe that breaking up T-Ming will be a lot closer to a rebuild than a retool. That's why I hope the Rockets get some draft picks for Tracy, if they end up shipping him out.
If the Rockets trade T-mac, then, that will be their stupidest move. Hope that they don't. Two or three bad games and people now talks about trades.
they couldn't get kobe, now they turn to tmac..... i think we should keep mac, i mean we are loaded with talents and one or two minor trades to get rid of guys like MJ, Snyder, etc would be enough
Everyone needs to realize tmac isn't thought of very highly outside of homers on clutchfans. Who wants an aging, injury prone star, that doesn't attack the basket, has never shown an ability to succeed when it matters in the playoffs, and likely will not play after his contract is up in 3 years.
Its not that they wouldnt trade Deng for Garnett or Kobe. Its that the Wolves and Lakers wanted Deng along with at least two other very good players like Gordon, Hinrich, and Nocioni, plus a throw in of Tyrus Thomas or Noah. That would be a complete gutting of their team. I say any trade of Tmac to the Bulls has to get us Deng in return along with other parts. I think Deng would be far more valuable to us then Gordon would be because of his length. Our guards are all so small and adding Gordon in place of Tmac makes it that much worse. Just as important is to make sure we dont pick up Ben Wallace. His game has significantly declined. He is basically Chuck Hayes, at seven times the cost. I still dont think we trade Tmac at this point, but would consider a Tmac/James for Deng/Hinrich/filler. Deng would have to get an extension at around 10-12 million a year.
Ben Wallace is on the decline and easily has one of the worst contracts in the league. Sure, he has a Battier-like effect on whatever team he plays for but for $14-16 million a year? C'mon now. Anyways, in the unlikely event that we do trade T-Mac we sure as hell will not just give him away. Gordon + Wallace for T-Mac is absolutely garbage. Gordon is nothing more than a rich man's Luther Head that benefits from playing in a horrible conference and we've already touched on how overrated and offensively inept Wallace is. Any hypothetical 'T-Mac to Chicago' scenario damn well better net us Luol Deng. Conversely, for Chicago to be able to match salaries in any T-Mac deal they would in all likelyhood have to include Wallace's contract since their other big contracts are all BYC or restricted. IF we were to essentially do them a favor and take Wallace's deal off their hands while giving up T-Mac, I would also want Tyrus Thomas and/or one of Nocioni or Hinrich (even though those deals are both BYC and restricted). Basically, unless we have a brain fart and mistake taking Wallace's deal as a good idea I can't see anything happening. Hopefully, we're smart enough to stay away. Plus, it's not like we're in a position to make any 1-for-3 trades or anything like that. We're already at 15.
Yeah I knew those trade proposals were a package of players including Deng. I'd still do it for a KG, Kobe or Tmac. Bulls can part with Gordon or Deng and then any other package of players to make it work. It's not like the Bulls are going anywhere with the same core players they have right now.
can you please list out all the different categories of players you have in your mind? and from there can you please list examples of players for each category. i think thats the reason why people dont agree with you. simple misunderstanding, cause i'm sure your opinion is actually fact. Thanks
the real question is.....would anyone want to trade for T-Mac? yes, if t-mac wanted to be, he's probably a top 3 player in the game. thats the problem, only if he wants to be. he cant take a team with what some of you argue is the best center in the game past the first round of the playoffs. how well is he gonna do on any other team? we fans are not the only ones that watch t-mac, i'm sure GM's thinking about trading for him watch him too and most of us can agree that he's lost a step already, at 28.
Reread what you just quoted me on, that's enough info if you have some sort of basketball knowledge. Thanks Something else for the Jack Ramsay and the Hubie Brown wannabes in the crowd: James Worthy would have never made the 50 greatest list without having Magic as a teammate. That's not a reach to say that.
The only spin on this is that Tracy will play well just to show the Rockets how stupid they were to trade him, but we saw how long that lasted after he was flushed out of Orlando.
People are down on Hinrich because he is having a very bad year. But we know how good a player he is. He is still young, just his rhythm was severely disrupted by all the trade talks. Of course he isn't cheap, owed almost 10mil a year next 5 years.
I bet JVG will do this trade. mcgrady for Ben Wallace and Ben gordon, in less than a heartbeat if he's still here with the Rockets. To have a 4 times defensive player of the year on his team, JVG is getting wet just by thinking about it.
Adding Wallace to tha mix actually makes tha trade worst. TMac is a franchise player, if they don't include Deng, i wouldn't even look in their direction. Deng, Gordon, and Nocioni for TMac and Hayes. I wouldn't even trade Chucks Hayes for Ben Wallace
