    Yes, when transferring to/into a FBS school (I-A) you have to sit one year. Since McGuffie has not used his redshirt, he will have 3 years of eligibility left beginning in 2010.

    I wonder if McGuffie knew his offensive coordinator was going to leave for Iowa State before he registered for classes at Rice. Oh well.
