That team was banged up for the playoffs and a few tweaks could have done wonders. Hell, just signing Willis that offseason would have been a solid imporvement (not saying that would have been enough, mind you). Mostly, though, I never liked Barkley and always loved Cassell. So it was a sad day for me. Getting past Seattle one year in the playoffs does not justify the trade in my mind. One year, one extra round (the next two years they were out in the first round) to, essentially, mortgage our future? Until 1999-2000 the Rockets were one of, if not the oldest team(s).
I Tottaly agree. The Rockets ruined their team just to get past Seattle but in the process made us weaker against Utah. The Rox could've fielded and awesome starting 5 without trading for Barkley. PG - Cassell SG - Drexler SF - Horry PF - Willis C - Hakeem That team couldve won 57 games if it stayed healthy and gotten past Seattle.
