No, but he gave up on some key pieces. I think after this seasons is over, Harden, Ariza, Bev, Beas and Capela have to stay. Everyone else can go. You can build a nice team with those guys included
If morey were running the dubs you think he would have turned down Klay for Love? I thought Morey loved love.
"Same mind set". Same nonsense from you. Show us how Morey's actions in Houston equate with what Hinkie did in Philly.
Sure, he loved them for the Rockets, as would anybody in their right mind, who knows what he would have thought had he been in GS - he'd have a completely different perspective. Also, maybe he would have brought him to GS and he would have scored eleventy billion points a game, who knows?
Not sure if serious... What Morey hung his hat on is rebuilding without ever tanking. What Hinkie tried to hang his hat on is rebuilding by only tanking. Literally the exact opposite mindset.
I think it is overly generous to use the word building and Hinkie in a sentence together. Hinkie was a star chaser, much like Morey. There is the similarity? Hinkie was allowed to go all in on the draft, but everytime he got a piece that may be useful, he got rid ofit in order to tank for the 1 pick again. Then choose BPA regardless of position, in the hopes they would be a star. He wasn't building anything because he did not get a star. Once he got one, he would begin the build. Essentially Morey churned his roster to improve assets and swing for a star via trade or FA. He also made riskier draft choices in the hopes of getting a star. So basically same philosophy? NBA is a stars league, get a star, go from there.
Morey did say that he approved of Hinkie's method. Morey doesn't have the freedom to tank like that under Les Alexander. No sure if Morey was 100% serious when he said that or just sticking up for his man.
Right. I agree with this. I just think it's silly to equate Morey to Hinkie in terms of team building when the evidence at hand shows they went about it in completely separate ways, albeit with different expectations from ownership.
The season is about to end and look at the disaster of a team your boy Maury has put together. But you still continue to blindly support him. I told you last year was luck, but you were too drunk to acknowledge that and felt that the rockets were championship contenders. If this harsh reality hasn't sobered you up, nothing will. Then again, if you're supporting Hinkie as well, you're as delusional as he is, which means you're more of a lost cause than initially thought. Congrats!
I disagree with Kwame on this topic, but your comment made me chuckle because of how off-base it is. The guy has published in statistical methodology. I know a lot of people dislike you and insult you on this board, but I haven't come across something from him insulting your intelligence. But maybe he has and I just haven't seen it...I'm not as obsessed over internet feuds as some here are.
"KWAY-so" dip. Makes me smile. You'd almost think Morey was joking with the mispronunciation? Not that Morey needs any queso dip.
Colangelo will take all the credit if the team pans out next year even though Hinkie built it. Would be nice if the Rockets picked Hinkie back up.
Sure... they call it "queso" (i live in Cleveland, OH). But please... you cant compare Houston (or even Texas) queso to what they have out here.
