<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TqOXcSHpv_E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Haters gonna hate, I see potential. I know everybody says it, and no it's because he's white and 6'9, but Dekker really reminds me of Parsons. They play a very similar game, Dekker just hasn't shown the passing Parsons did in college, but he can still become a very good player. Here's to hoping he stays healthy!
Also.... When his first two games he's only averaging 7PPG, while shooting 35% from the floor, playing 15mpg please remember that the dude is coming off of back surgery and hasn't played for months. But that's too much to expect from the mob crew here. Any excuse to throw a pity party.
I wasn't terribly excited about the pick, but the claims that he's a bust are premature. He hasn't played or practiced. Landry wasn't an exciting pick either (6'7" PF) and didn't play at all to start, but he eventually became a fan favorite.
Well this gives us a bit of a reason to maybe watch the D league team playing in Santa Cruz over the D league team playing in Arizona tonight.
People writing him off as a bust before he's hardly played? I seem to recall people on this board saying Capela was a scrub before he helped us in the playoffs. Show some patience, jeez.
Can't get excited about this Too bummed over everything else. Good luck Sam, hope you get your feet under you and prove the doubters wrong.
Can't wait to see what Dekker does down here in the RGV. He should go to the fine Mexican Restaurants down here and load up on some botana plates.
Kick that can down the road, let him figure out how to play and by year 3 he might be ok, and good enough to trade for a pick so we can continue to kick that can. DD
It's going to be funny when Dekker actually ends up being decent. All these people calling him a scrub and a bust with him injured is ridiculous.
LOL. In the other thread you're complaining the Morey never pays to keep the "good fit" young players he's picked. You're all over the place, dude.
I don't understand the Dekker hate? The NBA draft isn't anything close to the NFL or MLB. No one should really expect a true impact player outside of the lottery (and in reality the top 10). Once a decade there's an AI or Lebron draft that's loaded but that's the exception. Teams also get lucky on a late draft picks but expecting every pick to be an impact player is naive and you're going to have a bad time. Dekker was supposed to be a role player who gave us some depth on the bench. He got hurt and essentially missed his rookie season. I understand if you don't like the pick, but damn already calling the kid a bust is way too early.
