The only scenario I would endorse to get Cassell is to trade James for him. Salaries match but Clippers will never go for that.

Francis needs to be packaged with someone, Snyder is elementary, but that's still short of Sam's salary. Either Luther or Bonzi's salary will work according to ESPN trade machine, but I'm hesitant to give up either, especially Luther. I'd prolly give up Bonzi if pushed to make that trade.

He would be our starter...no doubt. Having said that, let's no pretend that adding a 38 year old, beat up PG is going to turn the season around.

PG isn't the only problem for this team but having Sam I Am back would be nice and would have me buying more tickets.

How about yes/no polls, with none of your opinion after it, how about a "Yes, but he would never come here" option, cause thats the truth

Calvin Murphy said today on his show that Sam was interested in coming back to Houston and that the Rockets were also interested in him as well. Also said that Francis would announce on Thursday that he would be undergoing surgery again and be out significant time.

If the Rockets manage to acquire Cassell, and he is healthy, there is absolutely no question that he would be our starting PG.

I wouldn't give up Bonzi.James/Snyder would be the only players I would give up,but like you said the Clippers wouldn't do it.

I've been hoping for this all year.

If it doesn't require moving Rafer, the best poll option isn't on there.. for him to backup Rafer. Brooks is solid, but his minutes should be limited for Cassell certainly..

And wow, if we could get him for only Francis, James, and expirings...I'd do it in a heartbeat..

edit: Don't include Head in the deal.. that, I wouldn't go for. Bonzi, Snyder, certainly..

Great !! Now let's get Sam back home for real, look at all the moves the Western teams are making. The only one in the east who can probably beat any team in the Finals are the Cavs & Celtics. Rafer is too incosistent right now, MJ can't run a team, Francis is out and Brooks is not a starter so a new starting PG is MANDATORY !!

Hell yea. The Clips would bite on Francis. They wanted him over the summer, ad the thought of bringing him back with his BF Mobley only puts icing on the cake.

Can't we sign a petition (i know it's lame) or is there anything we can do to push DM into trying to get Cassell. At least inform if the Clippers are interested in any trade involving Cassell.

My exact same thoughts. Sam can still shoot(he dropped 30 on someone recently), but is only good for 10-15 minutes a game(that's the 4th quarter). He would become the best playmaker/ballhandler on the Rox. I'd give it a shot.

Francis is going to miss significant time, it will be announced most likely tomorrow. He's going to have to have surgery on his knee again. Cassell has asked for the Clippers to buy him out, making him available for teams to sign him a la Francis. He could sign with Houston for the vets minimum but the Rockets wouuld have to free up a roster spot for him (ironically it could be Francis). Just some stuff I have been hearing recently, take it for what its worth
