Dorsey sucks. He's the one I don't want. After watching last night's game, theres no way Morey shouldn't be on the phone RIGHT NOW with every available bigman. So if not Mcgee, who exactly should we be after? There is plausible reason Morey should be comfortable with our backup center position after watching Robin Lopez turn into a young Patrick Ewing

Right now I'd take Thabeet over Dorsey...

Contrary to popular belief, Size counts.

We were chewed up under the boards last night, and couldn't match up with the size that Portland threw at us.

JaVale runs the floor, blocks shots and is 7'...I'd roll the dice for the rest of the season at least.

Thabeet is not the answer... not saying mcghee is either but our only options are mcghee, blatche, or convincing either okafor or o'neal whom are from or live in TX to sign.

So which one of our back up centers allowed Meyers to shoot Portland back into the game? No one was on him on 3 or 4 consecutive plays, no one.

McGee may not be the perfect fit, but he's good for 4 or 5 more possessions with his shot blocking and hustle. Dorsey is 6'7 or 6'8 and overmatched against any legit playoff center. And D-Mo just isn't strong enough or have enough stamina to bang with 5's for more than 5-10 minutes at a time.

D-Mo does not play like a 7 footer on D, could be because of his T-Rex wingspan, barely 7 feet. McGee is a 7 footer with a 7'7 wingspan.

Wouldn't we have to cut someone to sign McGee?

Size does matter. And so does length. And Portland has both in spades.

    Robin Lopez
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Chris Laman
    Myers Leonard

That's 4 guys with standing reaches anywhere from 9'5" down to 9' and weights revving from 270 to 240. They played 88 of the 96 minutes at the 4 and 5 with Dorrell Wright collecting a few minutes at the 4 when they went small. By the way, they've got Joel Freeman on the bench too in case they need another 6 fouls.

Contrast that size to the home team. We didn't have a single big out there last night with a standing reach over 9'. Is it any wonder we're getting blasted on the glass?

Even with Dwight in there (9'3" standing reach at around 250 lbs) our bigs are among the smallest big rotations in the league and probably second smallest only to Atlanta (maybe) big man rotation in the playoffs.

We'd better control tempo, turn our playoff opponents over more than any team in playoff history, and get a ton of easy buckets off those turnovers if we expect to win anything in the playoffs because we have put all our eggs in that basket.

Yes, I think everyone agrees if we get mcghee dorsey would be the guy. We could buy him out which counts against the cap but saves us cash to sign mcghee even if its a small amount, waive him and hope hinkie picks him up, or just waive him and possibly use the stretch provision so he doesn't count too much towards the cap since his contract is guaranteed next year. Who really needs 4 PFs anyways especially when we have 3 pretty good ones.

And now Utah and their size. Donuts and Terrence look like little boys out there against Gobert and Favors. They have no chance to win that battle because Terrence can't shoot well enough to get Favors out of the paint and he's simply too small to play the past against Favors while DMO drifts outside.

C'mon Terrence. Prove me wrong. Throw up 5 for 8 from 3 so at least you can offset what they are going to do to us on our defensive end.

Gobert with 18 boards at the half. 11 offensive.

I don't see how anyone who watches C's look like Wilt against us can say we don't need another 7-footer.

Hey talk to DMo. He's 7 feet tall, can't board to save his life and now can't hit a free throw anymore. Jones has 9 boards, by the way. That's what DMo gets in two games these days.

Gober looking like Ralph Sampson against DMo & Dorsey. No way in hell we couldn't use McGee. Morey stop over analyzing stats and get us a backup center

if we had a decent 7 footer to board and alter shots we would be the division leader right now

We'll likely matchup with the Clippers round 1. Good thing they don't have any good rebounders up front .......................................

Making sense can be painful around here, hope you took an aspirin. And hope that Morey has been paying attention and realizing that we need more size at the 5 if we want even a chance of advancing past first round. Can't count on out coaching other team either.
