I 'm glad we didn't ink Oysterfat. The dude was nothing but a quick foul prone and slow player. He has decent blocking and rebounding skill...but we could get someone cheaper that could do better.

    So who's that?

So far CD been making all the move to try and get players and so far players jsut doesn't want to play here. We might have to go cheap and take a chance on hard-nose players.

We need a team here, not all superstars. TMac and Yao are the superstars and the rest should be a no name brand that are willing to work hard to earn respect. Maybe they should take a look outside the NBA and look at the CBA. Betcha those guys are most hungrier and will fit as role players.

That's why the guy has a mental problem playing for Jerry Sloan.
Anyway, another reason is that Kings has a shot to win it all. That would give him a ring neither Malone or Stockton has. Haha.

Stromile ,Baker or a free-agent from Athen named Fabricio Oberto, who according to ESPN ranked ahead of Oystertag. I want to get a center that is athletic and skilled on offense in which we lacked last season. I agree we need to look outside the NBA too...maybe thats what CD is doin at the moment, who knows...

Maybe the big O is betting that Webber will be out for most of the season as usual so that he can get a starting spot along with Brad Miller?

At least that is reasonable thinking for O. He can get at most 15 min to spare Yao in Houston.

Never thought I'd see the day, where there would be a thread over the possible aquistion of Greg "Feminized by Shaq"Ostertag, on this board. Or that Rocket Fan would actually consider Ostertag as "missing piece" for a championship.

    Amazing.:p

Just goes to show what the value of a servicable big center in the nba is. I think Ostertag is defnitely servicable in a backup role, and I cant imagine him starting over Miller.

I dont understand his reasoning for going to Sac supposedly for playing time vs. Houston for more money (except I personally would much rather live in Sacto than H-Town) For the reasons mentioned, I dont see how his role there be any different than here. I would imagine he would actually probably see MORE playing time here behind Yao and I dont see the kings winning it all as being any more certain than the Rox doing the same. Oh well, no big loss...I hope. But who will backup Yao? Who will fill the void left by Cato? Who ever thought that would be an issue?

Assuming the comment wasn't BS, so much for CD just, "sitting around twiddling his thumbs." He doesn't jump up and down and thump his chest, like that clown, Wisenbutt. He's working the phones, watching tape, talking to JVG and the staff, seeing what Les wil go for... in short, doing his job. And better him than some of the other clowns managing some of the NBA's teams.

Some of you might not like CD, and he's done things at times that left me bewildered, for sure, but we could be in far less competent hands... not question about it.

(did we dodge a bullet with Osterfat or what??)

Well I was infavor os signing Ostertag till I read this...

After reading the article, the first two thoughts I had were

"Cheap b*stard Les" and "Do Nothing CD". Both were a sarcastic comment to the habitual whiners hopeing they would stop babbling like it's a fact, when they actually know nothing.

For those of you who don't understand something, it is often best to not comment on it. Old proverb ... "better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Words that have served me well.

No free agent is waiting a year to see how T-Mac and Yao play together...they would come here if we would pay them. That is pretty embarrassing that we offered more money to O-tag and he turned us down...but they must have promised him more playing time than our 10-15 min. He would have been nice for a year at mid...he's not really worth all that money, but for only a year that would do. I'm guessing we werent going to give him the extra option for next year though.

I'm guessing the rox are sitting this year out on free agents b/c we aren't going to win any championships in our first year. I'd love to see us shed some salary cap, so eventually we can end up like San Antonio...in nice cap space even with a championship-caliber team.

Maybe he just feels like Sac is a better team, which they are until we prove otherwise.
