Which was what pissed me off irreversibly about the play. We had the game in the bag, and this douchebag put showcasing himself hoping to get a starter's job above the team. Screw that. He knew damn good and well the right play was to slide. That play was unforgiveable. That said, I'd welcome him back. He's bound to be more mature now. And I agree with you that he showed more on an NFL field than Lienart ever did.
doesn't look like he is coming back anytime soon? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...-keep-rosenfels-not-allow-reunion-with-texans
Those two don't have to be mutually exclusive, imo. No matter who you bring in, I agree that the Texans are going to give TJ every shot to succeed. He's the first option, and will have a long leash. The only difference is that now, you need another QB (Rosenfels?) that can fill in in case he completely implodes. While doubtful, it's certainly conceivable that TJ could be the second coming of Blaine Gabbert... in which case you do need a second viable option. Sage, to me, is one of the only choices that make sense. It's too late in the year for the Kellen Clemens and Brodie Croyle-types - each of which has a sketchy track record to begin with - to conceivably learn a Kubiak offense and fill in. They're just bodies for an injury emergency. On the other hand, Sage actually could be a legitimate QB in this offense this year, and if there's anything the past month has taught us... it's that you need more than one of those. I think your buddy is right on the second part... but my instinct tells me that Rick would have interest in him as a backup. We'll soon see.
The Dolphins are a complete joke; why would they hold onto an injured list backup QB to keep him from a contending team? What do they stand to gain?
I would prefer T.J. Yates. I liked Sage better than Schaub when he was here but this is a different team. I don't want the good and bad of what Sage brings to the table. Sure he can throw for 4 touchdowns in the 4th quarter, but he can also give up 4 turnovers............in the 4th quarter...........when you might be up by 17 or so. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/j3_hi7gOjE0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Texans fans would have killed for Schaub to try and helicopter at the end of the Oakland game this year...
poor Sage.. We let him go to start in Minnesota.. then Favre shows up.. If anyone knows the playbook it should be Sage. Good thing now is that he won't have to Rosencopter as much since we have a better team. but that being said... I like the first drive by Yates before he got throttled. He showed poise and that he didn't have a noodle arm.
Schaub in the Oakland game: would have made a play to try and win the game... Sage in the Colts game: unnecessary play with us up 10 points with less than 4 minutes remaining in the game

Schaub would have received his season ending injury even earlier than week 10 if he attempted a "rosencopter" imitation.
I don't mind the Helicoptor play at all, the guy was trying to make a play......he fumbled....but at least he gave it all up to try to win. **** happens. DD
How I feel 100%. I really like Sage. Even if it wasn't necessary man wanted to kick the colts even further in the ground. Stinks it didn't happen but **** happens exactly.
The helicopter play was completely awful and utterly r****ded. We were already winning the game by two scores. One of the worst plays I have ever seen in my life.
John Mcclain's Twitter Texans will work out Jake Delhomme and Jeff Garcia on Tuesday. They are expected to sign one of them to back up rookie T.J. Yates.
Clearly not an ex Oiler fan...lol..... Look it was a bad mistake, but at least it was one of trying to win.....lessons are learned that way. Can't be afraid to try, the only failure in life is a lack of trying. DD
This. It was a loser's play and turned a win into a loss. Unacceptable. Not something Tebow or VY would do. That said, I wouldn't mind having Sage back at this point.
