Now lets get someone else on the D-line to go with JJ and we're on to something.

That's what the first pick in the draft is for.

Not if they go with a QB.

I give them more credit than that, they know how valuable the first overall pick is, they aren't going to throw it away like that.

Dang I really like Blunt. And his deal is pretty affordable. Oh well, we can one in the fourth or fifth. Heck we seem to do well with undrafted free agents...any chance Cierre Wood could be brought back?

If there's a chance to get him in the third I'd call that a steal. He's early second round good

Jeremy Hill in the 4th is more of a possibility

Good choice. Big and fast. This draft is flooded with good backs.

Hill has off the field issues. So never know with the Texans. Storm Johnson is a good one. But I would take Hill or Johnson over Tre in a later round. Tre was running behind that good line with Robinson being a stud.

Clowney will play OLB. Still need 2-gap DL's.

His role would change depending on the down. He'd play the elephant OLB in base packages, and DE in sub packages, but you are right, we'd need someone to step up at DE in base packages and we still need a NT. No one pick is a cure-all.

Yeah, but the point is that Clowney wouldn't come off the field because of his versatility. So I actually don't think the scheme fit is relevant with that guy. He'd help any team and you're right no one player can be everything. We've still got significant front 7 needs.

True story. I'm hoping adding a legit NT and Clowney to go with Watt along with having Cushing back and moving Reed to ILB where he belongs will go a long way towards alleviating those needs. I also want to see Travardo Williams get a shot. He's a raw pure speed rusher that is basically a slightly less athletic Anthony Barr.

I also think Crick could end up being that 2 gap DE in base packages, he was a two gapper in college, so I'd like to see him give it a go.

Keo showed a ton of improvement last year and was still making big time special teams play. Point being Keo is not the most instant upgrade of the group.
