Actually T-mac's defense is good enough as it is. We have been assigning Battier to guard the opponent's best/quickest player anyway. T-mac has been doing awesome offensively, and you can't ask him to do anymore. Yao's injury had nothing to do with T-mac returning to his old self. That was all about the treatment of John Patterson. His offensive efficiency has exploded since the treatment. Now of course, his increase in scoring and shots are a result of Yao being out, but not the increased FG% and aggressiveness on both sides of the floor.
