OK....well...that was Friday afternoon. Now...by your article... Great...the resolution calls for info. So Friday Blix made the assurance to keep the info secret...he probably made that assurance as a precursor to a formal request for info. That would mean that the UN didn't expect the intelligence to be in yet. Also...once it is in...you and I won't know ANYTHING about it. Ain't that funny.
In addition we must also immediately close all access to the internet, evil doers may gain detailed recipes from a google search. God forbid they learn of the nuclear family.
First, lest I be called un-American by the right wing hawks circling overhead, there is no doubt that Saddam is a scumbag, a liar, a murderer, owns WMD, is developing WMD, and so on. However, none of you have presented one reason, not one, why Saddam would refrain from disclosing the fact that he has a nuclear device. As Phi Slamma Jamma pointed out, it would be in Saddam's best interests to disclose that information to discourage any attacks against him. He knows if we invade we're coming to get him and he thus has every reason to use those nukes on Israel or Saudi Arabia. To hide that information would not be logical at all when it's your best deterrence. We would not invade Iraq if we knew for sure Saddam had nukes, see North Korea.
