It's hard to show genuine indignation about a bunch of fanatical people that blew themselves up with regularity did it again. We know their agenda, they've commited horrible acts like this before, and they will again. At this point, we can all ritually condemn them but what does that accomplish? Should we debate whether or not they should have done it? I think we all know the answer to that. We all agree that its wrong and bad and that they are assholes for doing it. What's the point of that?
being...dragged....back...in..... Does no one wonder about the simultaneous attacks today? Think people are coordinating? Israel took a hit too. I just find it a coincidence.
The dollars being generated from oil now, are going to the U.S. The Iraqis haven't been given any say on what happens with the oil in their country.
there aren't ANY dollars coming from oil yet. They got one line going and it was immediately sabotaged. blame it on the Arabs there, not the Americans fixing it. besides, the money isn't going to go to the US. The US will CONTROL it, and help determine the price. But I don't expect the oil money to leave Iraq. That will be used to rebuild the country, and plenty of US contractors will get fat off those deals.
http://www.corpwatch.org/issues/PID.jsp?articleid=6532 http://money.cnn.com/2003/03/25/news/companies/war_contracts/ Here is part of an executive order from Bush claiming the oil for the U.S. http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/14mar20010800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2003/pdf/03-13412.pdf These are just a couple of examples. Were these contracts chosen by the Iraqi people? Bush and his cabinet have stated that Iraqi oil will help to pay for the cost of rebuilding the country. I don't mind Iraqi oil money going to help build the country. I do mind President Bush deciding how that happens and who gets paid for doing it, instead of the Iraqi people we were supposed to be saving.
