Evanescence - My Immortal i'm so tired of being here suppressed by all of my childish fears and if you have to leave i wish that you would just leave because your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone these wounds won't seem to heal this pain is just too real there's just too much that time cannot erase when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears and i've held your hand through all of these years but you still have all of me you used to captivate me by your resonating light but now i'm bound by the life you left behind your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams your voice it chased away all the sanity in me these wounds won't seem to heal this pain is just too real there's just too much that time cannot erase when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears and i've held your hand through all of these years but you still have all of me i've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone and though you're still with me i've been alone all along This band is from Little Rock, Arkansas (i go to college about 20 minutes from LR) and they are about to blow up big time. Two of their songs are on the Daredevil soundtrack and their major label debut is coming out on Tuesday...I think I'm going to get my hands on this as soon as possible. The best comparison I can think for them is like Linkin Park mixed with Tori Amos with Tless rap and a piano in some of their stuff. The lead singer is a female, Amy Lee, and her voice is great. She really stands out on "My Immortal" because its just her and a piano...A lot of their other stuff is harder rock. If any of you guys want to check them out, they are actually going to be in Houston on Tuesday at a place called Engine Room.
I guess there are different kinds of sad. Here are a few that have stuck with me over the years, in different ways. Marianne Faithfull’s Why'd Ya Do It is sad in a grotesque sort of way. (I think she’s talking about her relationship with Mick Jagger. Yikes! …stay away from the drugs kids.) Jim Carol’s People Who Died is sad in a tragic kind of way. Zeplin’s Babe I'm Gonna Leave You is sad in a bluesy heartbreak kind of way.
Yeah, it should be interesting. I just always hate this kind of stuff that sparks Sting-like speculation.
REM - Everybody Hurts. The title even screams "most depressing song ever". To top it off, the video is a bunch of people stuck in a traffic jam! (filmed in Houston, I believe) I've never listened to that song without at least a passing thought of killing myself...
Yup. Apparently, they've recorded a studio album, as well as plans to release another live album from the upcoming tour. If DMB hadn't have already announced that they will be touring this summer, then I'd be freaking out right now. www.nancies.org It's like the second story.
Apparently. Also, there's been some disagreement among folks over there as to whether this is a Dave solo album with various guests, or if it's a Tim & Dave album. I hope it's the latter. You did see they were releasing a concert movie and a DVD box set from a concert last tour, right?
And you call yourself a DMB fan. Did you know RM95's Girl and I were driving 14 hours to North Carolina to see a show, all in 3 days??? Yeah, we're stupid!
wow! that is commitment...when he comes to houston, i'll see him...i'm debating taking my 3 year old to the concert the next time they're in town...he loves davie maffews!
