The biggest question I have about the Warriors is their coach. Baron Davis gave them a boost midyear after they were already out of the playoff race. Now that some expectations are on that team, we will find out if Montgomery can cut it. I think he's a complete lightweight and will be ousted sometime next season. If they had a decent coach, I would definitely agree with you on the Warriors passing the Kings. The Warriors also have to make their final determination on Dunleavy next year. IMO, he is NOT worth a hefty long term contract because he disappears too many games.
Nope- they have a couple of good players in Miller and Peja, and the rest are role players, including Bibby, in my book. If they get SAR, and he is healthy, he may be an X-Factor, since he has never played on a winning team, but I don't expect them to make much noise. Probably a 6-8 seeded team at best.
too bad they have a solid fanbase, I would like to see the kings move to Las Vegas. but they should trade for ruben patterson, spreewell and artest first.
Arenas a cutter? First he'd have to give up the ball. (You make it sound insidious for the owners, the Maloofs to make money.)
Miller /Skinner (SAR) /Thomas/Sampson Peja /Williamson Wells /Garcia/Evans/Martin Bibby /Hart/Price Balanced but underwhelming starting 5, good chemistry guys in Miller and Bibby, Wells is a cancer waiting to happen. No true go to guy in the clutch (Peja can't create his own; Bibby, Miller, nor Wells can quite score at will). No strong defenders in the group. They'll be above average, but don't have that one guy that can pull them to the next level in the end. Evan
excellent point that I completly forgot. didn't even mention them. AK47 is awsome, and I think he is fun to watch. I love Boozer, former Dukie, so he's my guy (despite that he shafted a blind guy). I think Deron Williams will be a very good player (NOTE: I'm not saying he is going to be a 10 time All-Star or anything, but he will be the best PG they've had since Stockton). Harpering is a solid player, knows his role and doesn't try to do more than that (was great at that here in Philly with Larry Brown too). I think they will be pretty solid. I also think we hate them because they are the Jazz. Why be possitive about them?? As for the Sonics.......well, they were around .500 for how long under Nate McMillian, who got a ton out of nothing, and suddenly, it worked. I think Nate goes, so goes the Sonics. Loosing AD and replacing him with Ric Brunson....not so good. I like Seatlle's token white boys (Collison and Ridinour), play well and play hard. Don't think Jesus Schuttellesworth can cary them like he did last year. Just my opinion, I could be wrong (but like Charles Barkley, I doubt it!
Bibby is not a role player by any stretch. He is their floor general, and a very clutch shooter to boot. He's the most valuable player they have, even moreso that Peja. Peja is strictly an offensive player, and honestly, Bibby could pour in 20 ppg or more a night. So can Brad Miller, given the freedom to do so. If they get Abdur-Rahim, they are back to being a formidable team in the West.
