I normally like the Celtics but they were being annoying last night. I think they were upset about that no-call on the Pierce drive where he fell on his face, because they were complaining about each and every call down the stretch, most of which I thought were the right ones.

Sacramento Sports Announcers make Raven Lunatic cry, whine and
    boo-hoo...

Man talking about the pot calling the kettle back! Geeesh!

Tommy Heinsohn and Walt Frazier are good announcers. Last night
    Tommy went nuts!

If you consider a complaint over fact whining, then I guess I am a huge whiner. So is everyone else on this BBS, by your definition. You are the one that got defensive with your "boo-hoo" statement. All I did was give you a reason why we Rockets fans were getting onto the Kings announcers. If you don't like it, how about explaining why you don't like it rather than typing in the ever-engrossing "boo-hoo" post? Nevermind, screw it. If you want to carry on this conversation by yourself, feel free. I'm out. This is pointless.

I missed it. But recalling how much intensity Heinsohn brought to the game when he played, I can imagine he pushed very hard on the threshhold of getting bleeped.

I believe Tommy was interested in the Rockets coaching job when they hired Bill Fitch. I wonder how that change would have affected history?

Basically it's about being fair to other cities just as we expect them to
    do the same for us.

In reality, I've never heard an announcer really say bad things about
the Rockets or the players EXCEPT BILL WALTON. Back in 1994 he
wouldn't give us a break! Ever! I mean, he had some good points but
it was obvious he was biased against us, no matter who we were playing
or how many good plays we made.

In fact, I have a game tape called the "Bill Walton tape" in which Sam Cassell
scored like 30+ points (TNT), but Walton said that Sam was a bad player all game
long (Steve "Snapper" Jones backed up the Rockets).

The Sac Announcers, the last game seemed like "Rocket fans" compared to
    Bill Walton of 1994/95.

Raven Lunatic: you made me laugh! great response...

I will say this: I have friends who listen to the Rockets' announcers and are from other cities and say that calvin and bill talk about non-basketball things the entire game and are terrible. they also commented that they are homers!

I actually think Bill and Calvin do talk about non-game issues to much and actually, think that they talk about (praise) the opponent's players way too much....

    kinda strange perspectives

Well, I would have no problem with other teams bashing Calvin and Bill on their own Rocket board. I wasn't saying that the Sacremento announcers were complete and total homers because of the instance I described, I merely stated that it annoyed me...

For whatever reason here in Dallas it is not often that I get Calvin and Bill on my League Pass, so I hear a lot of the other team's announcers. The Kings announcers annoyed me more last night than most of the other teams' announcers that I have heard. I acknowledge that the Spurs are much worse, and I can distinctly remember really hating the T-Wolves guys, but I felt I was fully justified in complaining about them.

I'm not sure that NBA League Pass is regional. Not sure, but it doesn't seem
    that way.

For example, if I watch the Rockets at Sac (NBA League Pass here in Maryland).
And that night, they happen to have the Sacramento announcers.

I'm pretty sure that ALL people in the USA that have NBA League Pass are
seeing the same announcers based on some of the post-game reports I see here
    at CC.net.

Well, except for Houston. It's probably blacked out for channel 51, or
    SW FoxSportsNet.

To me, it's seems like I see about 50% Calvin and Bill and about 50%
other cities announcers. Regardless if they are playing on the road or
    home.

I wonder how they (NBA League Pass) break this up? I wonder if wins/ratings/
market size has anything to do with it.

This is what makes me think it is regional. I can count on one hand how many times I have seen Calvin and Bill this season and we have played 20 games. I get the impression at times that other League Pass people get Bill and Calvin more often than I do. I don't know how they determine it, but I wish they would just break it up so that they use the home team's announcers every game so I know who to expect.

What's funny is that a couple of times they said "Man it is really quiet in here." LOL.

You got that right! I really don't find any other team's announcers too annoying, except for those guys.

Skeptical fans....most are in the wait and see mode...

...I think Houston fans have experienced too many high-hopes, dashed dreams,
and chokes to be to optimist on a 17 point lead.

It seems to me that the Rockets are a double-personality
    team right now...

...one second they are bring up the ball in slow-down pace reminiscent
of the Cleveland Cavs half-court game (of the 90s).....ZZZZZzzzzzz....

...and then the next second they are playing Kings-motion offense
cutting, and passing and dunking style ball.....Who, what?! Where! Whoa!
