Oh hell no. Give up our future plus the Franchise for Artest? LMAO. With Artest in the lineup with T-Mac and Yao, I doubt Yao gets more than 10 shots a game. Here's Artest, who thinks hes as good on offense as he is on defense. PASS.

Artest is a impact player and all, but he's also a 'big dummy'. if the Rockets' chemistry was solid (ala the Bulls and Rodman) and we'd recent playoff success, i'd jump all over that deal.

Scola, Brooks, hell pretty much the entire roster, are marvels of stability compared to Ron. unless we're clearing only the little used benchers, no to this one. tempting though ...

He is extremely emotional and moody. However, I think he is older now and
his craziness could be been on the slide. But the same emotional and craziness that gave him the extra will to defend and go for the ball.

thats a tough one. scola and brooks. id do brooks but not scola, the marketing power of scola is higher (only spanish speaking player in rockets in a city where hispanics are the majority) and he brings a lot of possitive energy.

brooks still has a lot to learn so if this is a make or break year for the yao and tmac excperiment then pull the trigger and send a package with brooks only no scola or landry.

So you know somebody really really really wants Brooks and you respond by preparing a happy meal including him and throwing in Scola as the French fries, and this costs them what??? Ron artest??

This writer thinks every GM agree to collusion like that Memphis guy.

Lets see Artest is a better defender then Shane but demands the ball a lot more. If fans already get angry at Tmac's shot selection, then they would hate Artest.

dang matt harpring is one strong dude. the guys physical but he can push ppl around. im surprised!

    i hate the jazz.

artest is a three ring circus, maybe bringing him to houston can keep the seats occupied throughout the entire game.

if they want brooks, the asking price is bibby.

they should be happy to swap ron for shane too.

throw in ending contracts of snyder and steve, and give them choice of rafer or james. james contract is a year shorter and will be a nice sized ending by this time next year. luckily for us he's more likely what they'd ask for.

i would even throw in our unprotected '08 first. no way we miss the playoffs after that move.

Watching that video makes me want Artest even more. This team needs that kind of pressence. Maybe not to that extent that he displayed but this team needs some attitude. He and Bonzi could be our version of the 'Bash Brothers' from the mighty ducks. :D

I remember that Ron played 4 sometimes and efficient. he's similar as Hayes there, short but very powerful, will push the big guys out of positions.

It is no question when Ron plays, he is better than Battier. But do you know how long he will play. That's the question mark. That is meaning of RISK. When you make trade decision, you won't only consider the performance on court, but you estimate the asset value. Ron's total value is not higher than Battier now. I think I'm the first one on this board said that Rockets should go for Ron last year. He's valuable asset could help Rockets over the hill, but not for Shane. This kind of trade will not make Rockets much better. Use expired contracts and picks and filler is the most Rockets are willing to do.

l'd like to see artest on our team. i think his off-court behavior issue is overrated.

but, i don't think we'd trade battier away. that basically kills the possibility of getting artest imo. artest will have no place here as long as battier is playing.

if the kings are really high on brooks, then we can talk about bibby - as long as we don't include scola in the deal.

Luis and Brooks for Artest would be a fatal blow for the Rockets. The Bee is looking at things from their angle. DM isn't that dumb.

Harpring is one of the dirtiest players in the world.
Artest's eyes tell you he's crazy, Harpring's tell you he is hypocrite.

If artest is signed for 3 years, I bet you everyone's jumping on the trade in a heartbeat. With him opting out, however, it's totally another thing. With rox's current salary structure, I simply don't see artest being retained after the summer.

given that, there's no way we mortgage our future core for a half season rental.

and fyi, I don't think extension in season is possible. There's just no way to be assured of artest's service, otherwise it will be a totally different matter

Artest without the the attitude and headcase would have been a 5-6 time All-Star. That's why all the teams want him. If LeBron James had Artest's attitude he probably wouldn't be an All-Star either. Talentwise, having him on the Rockets is a huge upgrade at the 3. But it is still a BIG RISK!
