Suns are just talking. When ATL frontload that contract, they will not match i don't car what they claim to say. 4 max contract guys, you have to be kidding. Speaking of the suns, i would like to have McCarty on the rox as a 3/4 type of bench player.

They will match and the front load may actually help. That gets a lot of the dough through before Amare's max will hit. Further, if they need to, they can trade Marion for cheaper players + expiring contracts, future picks + expiring contracts, or trade him to a team under the cap.

You know Walker for KT + 1st might be to both teams advantage. Sac needs more playmaking and creativity, and Corliss and Skinner are more complimentary back-ups than what they were for KT. Walker also is right in their with the age group of the Sac core--Bibby, Peja & Miller. I think Walker makes them much harder to defend and probably keeps them a top 10, top 8, type team (assuming they get some play out of SG), and a shot at home court in the 1st round perhaps. For a team trying to hang in there and keeping the fans positive, might work.

For Boston, they get a banger and workhorse role player plus a future 1st rounder. Maybe not what they would want for Walker on the open market, but when faced with maybe being left high and dry, they get a decent starter and future compensation.

I think it would make a lot of sense for both teams. I just hope a move like this doesn't go down until we have Swift in the bag or I'll get really nervous.

They could be just talking or they could be dead serious, we'll have to wait and see. They've said from the very beginning that they will match any offer, but I don't think they expected him to get a max offer.

But I wouldn't be suprised if they did and tried to move Marion. Personally, I think Marion is a better overall player, but the Suns love JJ and have listened to offers for Marion before.

McCarty is a very good player, especially since PHO got him for a 2nd Round Pick.

good, can I say... let's bring KT back? how about Wesley for Kenny Thomas? we then use our MLE to sign the Cat or Jaric to play the 2 guard. LLE or Sura+T.E. for D. Stoudmire? we got a solid starting line-up:

    Yao Ming
    Thomas
    McGrady
    M. Jaric
    Stoudmire

I didn't mean Sac doesn't want KT, it is just that they would be willing to part with him for the more talented Walker. Sac would not just trade KT to use for Wesley alone, no chance.

Besides, that is a little too much change in the backcourt for me and looks terrible defensively and leaving us with little cohesion from last year's group. I don't care if Sura, Wesley, James and Barry are ALL back, but I for sure want Sura OR James + Barry back (Barry is of no use in a trade, but is a good back-up player for us). Whether Wesley goes and/or one of Sura/James goes just depends on if we can get better players back, but I don't dislike any of them.

Walker to Sacramento makes a ton of sense here. I mean their offense was centered around Chris Webber's passing in the post and high post. And one of Walker's strengths as a PF is passing. He seems like a natural fit at least in the offensive scheme. Now, how he meshes with Peja and Bibby would be interesting but the "fit" makes sense and I can see why the Kings would be interested in Walker. Walker might not be all that great defensively but if you have seen Webber lately Walker looks like Rodman comapred to Webber's mobility.
For the Kings to get Walker though you have to believe they would move someone out of this group: Williamson/Skinner/Thomas. And then they have to decide what they are going to do with Songilia.

I am sure the Kings and Celtics could work something out here. And the Rockets probably realize that and that's probably why they are trying to speed up the Swift situation so if they lose out on Swift they still have time to jump into the chase for Walker.

I agree. Pairing Walker with Miller gives them frontcourt passing on par with Divac/Webber. Unfortunately, Walker also has an equivalent basketball IQ as Webber.

Walker would be the best off-season acquisition the Rockets could make. He's one of the best all-around power forwards in the league, has great hands that making him one of the best offensive rebounders the Celtics have ever had, both strong and mobile, has better defensive instincts than given credit for (he completely shut down Jermaine O'Neal in the playoffs a few years back) --- tell me how that isn't an upgrade over Juwan Howard and Maurice Taylor?

On the downside, he's a poor outside shooter --- which would be fine if it weren't for his shot selection. However, if the Rockets could get him to focus on mid-range shooting rather than dagger threes, there would only be a handful of power-forwards in the league who could guard him.

Another drawback is that his post-game is exposed whenever he's matched up with a stronger player --- like Kenyon Martin. Likewise, he has no chance of guarding the vast majority of small forwards in the league.

But the main reason for the Rockets to get him would be his fire - he's an emotional player who plays with his heart. If he's on the Rockets, you'll see a new, fired-up Yao Ming in no time.

The reason the Celtics aren't bringing him back isn't chemistry. It's direction - the team is putting its faith in its young core, and bringing in low-priced veterans to play spot minutes. They need Jefferson to start.

Look for Walker to be dealt for someone like Malik Rose (and sweeteners, like future picks) or Bob Sura.
