That has nothing to do with leading a team of grown, high paid players. Chris Paul came to the hornets and took the leadership role. He tells people where to be, what to do, and what he expects of them. People will also tell you he will get in ur ass. Jordan whipped steve kerr in practice because he was slacking. That's what made jacksons hob easier because jordan was so demanding, everyone fell in line. Duncan is hard on his teammates and is willing to criticize them. Bird called his teammates "sissies" after a playoff loss. They responded by whipping the lakers. That's leadership.

Yao proves that he's a leader every game i watch him on the court. I don't know what youre watching.

WWF comes on later tonight. Maybe thats more up your alley.

Did you think Yao will ever pull tracy to the side and tell him about a heat check 3 he just missed that allowed the other team to stay in the game? Or what about rafer when he has a rucker park flashback?

If it costs us a game im sure he'll let them know. But those guys have been around the league for a while. They know what to do. You're reaching big time.

    Nice little read.

So far, I've been impressed with Artest and the way he handles himself on court and in the media. Thought the team isn't completely clicking yet, he's proven to be a great pickup so far.

And I'm loving the dude's enthusiasm. Can't remember the last time a Rocket player was high-fiving the crowd after making a big shot.

You are contradicting yourself. If leaders are born leaders how can they learn to lead when they are already born leaders? Can you be a born leader but don't know how to lead because you haven't learned it?

Since I confused with the leaders are born vs learn to be leaders, let me clear it up. At a very early age, you can tell who are the leaders and who are the followers. As a parent especially, you can tell which of your kids will follow your example and try to lead and which will not. If you think about early childhood team sports, you know who will be the qb or the pg or just the leader. Those kids just have it. I'm willing to bet chris paul, jason kidd, magic, jordan, and players like that were leading their aau teams, jr high squads and on and on. Leaders are natural. Its can't be forced or phony. Other players see straight through it. So when I say it can be learned, I think you can be taught or told what it is to be a leader of men, but the naturals can take that knowledge and run with it, while the non naturals will fight it and try to find true meaning in it. I just don't see Yao or Tracy as guys who is willing to be disliked on their team. Being a leader, some of your teammates won't like you, but they don't have to, they just have to respect you. Tracy and Yao's dna is to get along and be friendly with all there teammates even if they're messing up. As a leader, you have to raise their expectation on themselves because it makes the team better. If your best players play balls to the wall and is willing to do anythingin the rule book to win, the coaches jobs is easy. I don't think either is willing to win a game at any expense. That's one reason why they trade for artest. He's a guy who would rather not eat than lose a game.

that's bullcrap. I've been to Sac town many times and it's not that bad. And weather wise, H-town is hell compared to Sacramento.

Besides, it's an easy drive(if I80 is open) to either Frisco or Reno.

As far as Yao & leadership goes, I think Yao is more like Jeff Bagwell than Craig Biggio.
