Agree to disagree, even with Sabonis being very good, there’s no way you give up on Haliburton that quickly and trade away your best shooter for a guy that cannot carry a team and ruins your future of even trying to contend.
Wow that 2nd round pick makes it all worth it....joke lol. Pacers got their new franchise player. I would trade Green and Sengun for Haliburton right now straight up he is crazy good. Hell if Rox knew Haliburton was available they should have traded nets picks and pretty much any pick that isn't next year's pick for him.
Maybe, maybe not. A couple of years from now, this might look like trading a second year Harden for a very good Kevin Martin. (I know when Harden was traded he was a 4th year player and was already very good.) My point is, this second year Haliburton looks very much like at Harden's second year level. (Not saying he will or will not turn into the prime Harden.) And Sabonis can be at K-Mart's level as the best player of a mediocre team.
Now that I think about it why not C Wood? Cmon Stone surely you can 1 up that offer? C Wood is better than Sabonis and just a year older.
lol rockets are as clueless as kings when it comes to matters of sengun btw this is one of the dangers of tanking, you easily get bored with it and you try to make for a play off push and ruin everything, then its again 5 years of tanking again lololol
making a playoff push is the opposite of tanking I don't really get your point. A playoff push means the Kings don't wanna tank so how is this one of the dangers of tanking? The reason Kings are in this mess is they refuse to tank and blow it up, would rather get meaningless wins year after year even when they luck onto a good player like Haliburton instead of trading Fox and blowing it all up so they can tank and build around Haliburton they trade Haliburton for quick wins. Kings are actually the danger of not tanking. Look at the Cavs. They dumb AF makes bad picks year after year but since they tank every year and even a broken clock is right twice a day they luck onto some good talent eventually like Lebron, Irving and Mobley.
The Kings finally had a modern elite player in Halliburton and they gave him away for Knock off Sengun .
In a vacuum, I'd say the play would be to trade Fox and friends, maybe keep Richaun, Davion and Hali, and turn that 20-35 into 20-62 and try to have a Chet and Hali core. But really, 15 years without a post season is a looooot. Enough to even fool yourself into thinking that the play-in counts as the playoffs. And who knows, maybe AD gets injured and you can steal the Lakers' spot and all your dreams come true. The trade is myopic for sure but when you're dying of thirst in the desert, you settle for drinking your own piss.
C Wood is averaging 18 10 on 37% 3 pt (45% on corner 3s) with no pg playmaking for him and virtually no spacing on his team. If you are just talking about purely offense and rebounding C Wood is pretty legit.
God Sacramento is such a poverty franchise. That sh** is embarrassing. GM Monte McNair should be forced to resign after that. 15 straight years that franchise has picked in the lottery… FIFTEEN!! And somehow their fans still show up and fill that arena almost every home game. That’s a loyal and passionate fan base and they deserve better. Seriously.
The only benefit in this trade for me is that it screws Morey over big time. He should have made the trade to send Simmons to Sacramento for Hield and some picks in the summer. Now he is stuck with Ben Simmons, an absolute offensive 0, overrated defender, and a headcase to boot. Morey analyzed his head into his own a***ho**. As they say, pigs eat and hogs get slaughtered. Ha Ha.
