Without prejudice, I will like to state that no living coach (Larry Brown, Pat Riley, Bill Parcels) can control that Portland team. NONE!!!!

No coach can control this present Portland team as well - you can only hope to "contain" it. It is a thankless job.

Anyway, if anything I think Mike Dunleavy will be better for the experience. JVG is presently my # 1 option but I don't mind Senior Dunleavy.

But take a look at this excerpt from one of the reports;

Why is Carlisle the needed one du jour? Are the reams of (admittedly contradictory) stuff coming out of Detroit not just a bit s-c-a-r-y? They sure are to me.

I believe the coach has to take care of business. One piece of business is that he should be a magnet attracting players to come.

I believe JVG is the only one of the three to fit that bill.
