Yeah DaDakota, they kinda remind me of the '94 squad....only difference is that team would have totally raped this current Spurs team.
Dallas wasn't really going to win 3 in a row. I think it really would have been silly to aggravate Dirk's injury given the odds.
Anyone still want Nellie as the Rockets' coach now? In the biggest game of the year for his team, he had the Mavs running around like chickens with their heads cut off playing streetball down the stretch. Nellie's a pretty good judge of talent, but he's one of the most overrated coaches in the league in my book. The fourth quarter showed why.
...and the Spurs didn't need to foul somebody every time down the floor in order to come back...amazing...
I was furious too! Couldn't believe what I was seeing. The other game the Mavs choked away was the Laker game when they blew the 28 pt 4th quarter lead, and they did the same thing then that they did last night - they tried to kill the clock and ended up getting themselves out of the flow of their offense. When I saw Nick take the shot clock down to 10 then try to take Kerr one on one I got a really bad feeling in my stomach. When he missed it became worse. That was the play by design. Pick on Kerr. Kerr is old and slow, but the guy is a winner, and trying to exploit one guy throws off your whole offense. No one else touched the ball! Finley tried the same thing the next possession, and he missed too. Nellie is a great coach but I blame this loss on him and him alone.
