They said they'll be interviewing Stern at the top of the hour. They've been talking about the JVG standoff most of the afternoon. Most of the judgement here seems to be that JVG really didn't do much wrong, but rather that the "informer", if real, is wrong for passing the info on. Although some believe JVG has the right to know if Yao is going to be officiated differently than he has been, such as calling moving picks. Bullard on now, Stern to follow.
They asked Bull his opinion of JVG vs Stern. Nothing really new there. Talked about the series. Still thinking Rockets can come back. Thinks incident will spark the Rockets to rally around JVG and that officials won't call against them because of the incident.
No specific Rockets stuff yet. Just how same game officiating can be viewed differently by both sets of fans.
They are talking about JVG and Stern. Stern is pissed. "Why would a coach say something to give himself an edge? Live with it. You just trying to fill time. " "I don't want him to give up anything. Accept what he said, buy the conspiracy theory. Whatever. You do it" "I know there is no truth, we haven't posted onthe website since Feburary. I'll wait till this is all over. I can't tell you if JVG has lied inthe past. I couldn't tell u. " "I'm in the middle of the investigation. I haven't finished it yet. because he isn't helping." "We're spending 14million on our officiating. "
Was asked directly, "do you deny that an email was sent"? At first, didn't answer. Now says nothing was posted on a website as JVG claims.
According to Stern, nothing has been posted on the officals' site since April.... I find that hard to believe since he said earlier that they look at the website after every game and review all the calls made.
Lots of double talk and PR talk. Alot of harping at the interviewers for being talk show hosts who believe JVG totally, rather than being journalists who investigate.
