Yes, i think your are spot on correct. The so-called injury exception allows us to pay a players remaining salary w/o it counting again the books. This starts one yr after the injury. If the anniversary date is mid-season, any date before the last day of the regular season, the entire salary is removed from books, while we are still allowed to pay Sura. bottomline: if we don't cut Sura, we can still pay him for being such a great guy, and his entire salary this season will come off the books, salary-cap wise...and all remaining years. that said: correct me if i'm wrong...capologists.
we've wanted RyBo gone for so long, now that its happened, I feel a bit sad. nonetheless, the team should reap the benefits. Jacobsen would of been ok, he'll prob catch on somewhere and do well this season.
Expect to see those Pictures of JVG, two donkeys, and a short bald circus clown published in the Houston Chronicle any day now. Rybo will have his revenge!
YES! God answered my prayer! rybo's gone! ill miss his hustle but thats about it. and i guess welcome back to the team scotty the body!
I can see it now after a few years in the Euro league. Rybo is gonna come back with a team like the Bobcats and smoke us with a 40 pt game On a serious note, I like the rybo for his hustle and 110% effort, but he's not cut out to be in the NBA. Give it up Rybo, go get a regular job like the rest of us
Yes! Confirmation that it's still possible for adults to grow brain cells. Took them two years but they finally realized Bowen had no place on the team. Plus Jacobsen only shot 11.1% in the preseason for a guy who was supposed to be a shooter, so that definitely was a no-brainer. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/casey_jacobsen/index.html
If Rybo can get a guaranteed contract soon that'll be around 1M off the books and more room to use that 4.2M TE.
A BIG THANK YOU to Ryan Bowen for all those memories. GOOD LUCK!!!! Am I the only here who really appreciate Rybo's effort the last 2 seasons?? I still remember everyone here praise his defence against Nowitzki in the playoffs 2 seasons and all of sudden because of last season's mess he has become everyone's target............ sad!
So, if Sura retires and the three kiddie kuts are still available: Azubuike Jacobsen Haryasz Who gets re-signed -- or do the Rox sign someone else's cut?
I would say Jacobsen since he was the last of the kiddi kuts but also he probably is the most ready to play. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jacobsen rejoin the team sometime this season. Glad to see Rybo get the axe. Now we only have 1 deadweight player left on the roster (JHo).
If Rybo can play in the NBA, so can you. Sad to see Rybo go because he gives hope to all the average children in the world. He is the symbol of American dream.
oh sure, cut all the white guys! i didn't see all that much of the preseason but of the 7 or 8 shots i saw jacobsen take, i don't think he made any, and rybo, well...he's rybo, so these two cuts make the most sense. but i don't know who we'll get to trip and fall in front of antawn jamison this year to distract him while he's taking last second shots. that's defensive technique you can't teach. and it's good to see that scotty the body lives on. always liked him on the rockets.
