Been outta the country for a little while and when I come back, I read this. Glad to finally hear Mallet as the starter.

It's strange to see that he's named the started yet he hasn't even played at least a quarter this season? Or has he?

    Someone help me out here...

He took a few garbage snaps (handoffs, kneeldown) earlier this season, but that's about it.

We all knew about the arm, but the total command out there was even more impressive...Getting them up to the line quickly.. recognizing defenses and utilizing audibles ...total grasp of the offense he learned so well under B.O.B....So much poise....

We have our QB ......It would have been nice if they had made the move and brought him in earlier in the year, but ....Mallett will be back there for many seasons.

You guys think so? I'd love for it to be true and he did look good so I'm hoping it is. I was just thinking that for a few games Case Keenum looked really good also, and now I'm not even sure if he is still in the NFL. Does take more then just a few games to really see if somebody can be the answer or just a practice squad talent player, or is there something about Mallet that strongly jumps out that he is competent (seems to have a really strong arm, and commanded the offense well).

It's a little early but am extremely happy that's he's a true pocket passer vs one and done mobile types. Just seem to last longer and be more relevant. He can make all of the throws and that alone makes him more dangerous than anything Fitz could do. It's no coincidence the offensive line and running game played better today...and Foster wasn't even playing.

Even his INT was more a great play by Haden than a bad decision by Ryan. We'll see how defenses adapt as the tape on him gets more plentiful but a solid debut.

he wasn't lying about his football iq. i was expecting check down carr on every play in his first start. you wanted a video of him passing we get an entire game. passer rating 95.3 against the best passing defense. since we get negative knee jerk reactions or baptize a rookie as the new god after one start...here it goes....not even big ben was able to put that on cleveland.

More audibles from Mallet today than in five years of Schaub. How refreshing!

Now we have tape of him in a regular season NFL game. Tape says he looks good. Good for him.

And now other teams have tape of him. Next step is to see how he handles the adjustments...

Man to get him out there against the defense that made Dalton look absolutely terrible last week in front of their home crowd speaks volumes about Mallett
