He had to explain it on live TV lol jokes are always funnier when they have to be explained.

For real tho they had no chemistry. Hollins set a pick and rolled to the basket and was SURPRISED AS **** that Ackerman lobbed him up an easy jam. That **** just sailed right out of bounds.

it will have to be new memories for CA and Hollins, lmao

CA will have to ask where Ryan's Houston knowledge starts so he can create a baseline. it's probably only Harden stuff.

Tillman thought he approved the hire of Ryan Bowen and this guy showed up.

Walking in with an open mind he was solid. I think they'll be fine

Their chemistry thus far was… yeah. Not great yet, and glad Ackerman didn’t push the issue too much. It was almost as if they were not even in the same room. I don’t know if you caught the other lob too at the end of the game where Craig asked him to put on his late game strategist hat on knowing that the correct decision was not to foul until 8 seconds and Hollins fumbled that. That was a bit awkward.

Overall though I thought he did okay… his commentary was like wall paper that is designed to look like natural wood. Not really there to be paid too much attention to and just background color.

We’ll see how the season goes but so far I give him a C-.

his nonstop dumbass over-the-top platitudes and smurf voice got me down that i'll probably have to switch to opposing teams' broadcasts quite often this season

The problem is that both Ackerman and Hollins are subpar. Neither really know Rockets history. Neither is humorous or engaging. Ackerman isn’t really a play by play man and he doesn’t have a good voice. During the second half I just turned the volume low and just watched the game.

I think Hollins would be fine if paired with someone like Worrell or another professional. A good play by play man knows how to set up the analyst. Frankly, Ackerman is probably the worst of the two.

Based on most of the posters' reaction here how much they hated him, I am very sure this is a great hire.

Not in my opinion. Ask Ackerman to tell you everything he knows about Joe C. Meriweather.

Goodness gracious Craig is annoying. Dude needs some Adderall. Reacts to every bucket like it's a game 7 buzzer beater.

So? If I tune in 790 on my phone and listen to Matt on my headphones, how much out of sync would the commentary be?
(not sure if they even put the games on line)

He’s actually very decent, picture Horry and you’ll be fine. He was genuinely excited but very calm overall and I like that. Craig will never not be annoying, his voice is made for radio, but he’s good for excitement!

I really like Ackerman. Hollins was Below average but tolerable.

And idgaf what's going on...if I have the option, I will NEVER watch a national broadcast over local.

A pet peeve for me with Hollins -- he's always saying "our" this and that, "our" paint, etc... Trying too hard, and not convincing...

Like, do some Rockets homework, and then maybe...

"Who's this 'our' you're talking about?"

I might get used to him. But yea was thinking the same, :D. What is this "we", "our", collective pronouns being thrown out there. Got to buy us dinner first, moving in too fast. :D:p
