Although I would not put it the way Normalus has, I agree with Normalus. We cannot excuse people committing suicide due to some depression. Many people who feel depressed don't commit suicide mainly because they want to live for those who love and depend on them. No way do I condemn those who are so depressed that they resort to suicide, but at the same time, I am not going to try to waste time grieving for them. I got better things to do -- like post on this board.

One more thing while I am at it. People who are depressed and commit suicides are certainly more "commendable" than people who are depressed and decide to kill innocent others at the same time they take their own lives.

If I were in the same situation, I could understand his wife taking her own life. You know, sympathize but not condone.

How about we just have the common courtesy to respect the dead and not act like we're above other people who show that decency.

I've contemplated suicide a lot and what I've learned is there is no end to it. It is like an addiction. People can judge me but they don't know me. They don't want to know what it's like end of story.

I cannot imagine; therefore, I cannot judge.

All I know is that on one hand, it takes extreme courage, in my opinion, but on the other, to the person that commits suicide, there is no hindsight - to everyone else it's 20/20. Its a second of your life you cannot take back, but with the ultimate finality. You know how many seconds of my life I wish I could take back?

In other words, I will never understand either way, because I hope to never be in that situation; therefore, I cannot judge anyone that is in that situation.
