I though he is only good at spot up shooting. But after watching some highlights I am very surprised that he can actually create his own shot on 1v1 (postup and dribble stepback). That's exactly what our team lacked. We need someone to create some shots besides Harden.
Ariza diss 200 open bricks. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Forward <a href="https://twitter.com/ryananderson33">@ryananderson33</a> on the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Rockets?src=hash">#Rockets</a> pitch and <a href="https://twitter.com/JHarden13">@JHarden13</a>: <a href="https://t.co/g0awQ5M2wW">pic.twitter.com/g0awQ5M2wW</a></p>— Mark Berman (@MarkBermanFox26) <a href="https://twitter.com/MarkBermanFox26/status/750437438154092544">July 5, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
People who have said he can't create his own shot haven't watched the dude play. He is a good offensive player. He had a game this year against the Rockets where was killing us inside the 3 with step backs and spin moves in the post. He's not a banger, but he is very skilled. Of course he gets hurt a lot and he isn't a good defender.
Haha love it, we did brick a lot of shots last year. Harden worked so hard and just nobody could get it in. Terry, Ariza, Brewer, Josh etc. Only Beverley.

I mean, come on; how can you not like this guy. I don't like the contract but that's the kind of player we want!
He's not dissing Trevor lol. You weirdos have either bad reading comprehension or just like reaching like Reed Richards. "Guys like Ariza were getting 200 wide open threes" Why would that appeal to Anderson? Because it means that Trevor is a solid 3 point shooter that shouldn't be left wide open yet he was still getting 200 open 3s. Maybe Anderson perceives himself as a better three point threat than Trevor, but if James has so much gravity that Ariza is getting 200 threes despite being a good knock down 3 point shooter then it would be fantastic for a guy like Ryan who loves to let them fly. Fact: James is one of the best if not THE best player to create threes for his team mates especially from the corner. Anderson knows that, and he has the proof when Ariza who again is a solid knock down 3 point shooter is getting 200 open threes. So again, why does it appeal to Anderson that Trevor is getting 200 open threes? Because it means that Anderson will also get 200 open threes because James is so good at creating them for his team mates. No shots at Ariza.
Happy to be here. I've been a Ryan Anderson fan since he was in high school and would like to share my knowledge and opinions with Rockets fans. Ryan's main nickname is Ryno and is sometimes called flamethrower. Ryno is not injury prone. Back in January of 2014, a player collided with Anderson leaving him with a very serious injury, a herniated disc in his neck which required surgery and him missing the rest of the year after playing 22 games where he was having a career year at the time. Ryno came back for the 2014-15 season and he wasn't himself, he has said in an interview that it felt like he had weights on his feet. Ryno has worked hard to get back to the way he was playing before the injury. Ryan's strengths: Scoring. Ryan can get a basket, wherever he is located on the floor. When he gets hot he is really hot and can carry a team offensively. 3-pt shooting Ryno led the NBA in 3's made a few years back. He is a high volume 3 point shooter. He takes most of his 3's from the top of the key or wing, not the shorter corner 3. He spreads the floor for everyone else where teams can't afford to double team as much or lead Ryno open. Ryno demands that the defense pay attention to him. Offensive rebounding Ryan is a good offensive rebounder and battles. Ryan might not always get the rebound but he always puts a body on someone to box out, which helps teammates secure the rebound. Other things Ryan excels at is FT shooting, taking charges and drawing offensive fouls, being in the right place, taking good shots and not forcing a lot of bad shots. Weaknesses: Defense. He isn't quick by NBA standards and he's not much of a shot blocker. Ryan's best position is PF, so he's not someone who can play any position. He is better off playing C in a small ball lineup than SF. Overall, his impact on the offensive end outweighs what he gives up on the defensive end. He will score and allow his teammates to score more than he will give up. He's a great teammate, brings veteran leadership, never a problem inside or outside the locker room, a likeable player, funny, has heart, and his teammates and coaches like him. Most people don't know this. 2007-08 in the Pac 10 conference, Ryan Anderson led the loaded Pac 10 in scoring and 3rd in total rebounds. Some of the names in the Pac 10 that year. James Harden, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, O.J. Mayo, Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, Taj Gibson, Jerryd Bayless, Darren Collison, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, and Jon Brockman. Ryan Anderson a sophomore at California, 21.1 PPG and 9.9 rebounds per game. James Harden was a freshman at Arizona St. 17.8 PPG. Harden was 20.1 PPG as a sophomore.
I don't think he was being negative either. But he could have eliminated all doubt by if he did not frame the statement with "guys like...". Picking nits in any event. Anderson is stoked to be on the team, we need more of that attitude not less. Players who love the opportunity to play for Houston, regardless of the reason.
him and bullard are gonna be best friends. Bull even compared himself to ryan anderson once. 2 lanky white guys that love to shoot 3s.
He's been trying to get out of new orleans for years, him and Gordon as a matter of fact. New Orleas refused to trade him
The question is what happens when teams go small, and he ends up having to try to defend a 3. It will get ugly on D.
