That guy is a thin-skinned sissy and has anger management issues. Instigation and getting under each other's skin is part of the point of that show. Whatever it takes to get a reaction and remove your hand from the vehicle (which means you lose). The woman was just playfully taunting him with her shoe and words...and the guy couldn't take a little ribbing and snapped in a bad way. What a pathetic loser. I bet that guy got picked on and bullied a lot by his peers while he was a kid. Especially taking Russia's culture into account. Probably got into several fights too. Insecure people like him are easy to spot; they just give off a certain vibe. One of the criteria for being a mature real man is being able to take some ribbing, let it roll off your back, and be able to dish it right back in a humorous, non-violent manner. IOW, self-confidence. Be able to take a joke. If that guy in the show were a real man, he wouldn't have been fazed by her behavior at all, and after the show was over (win or lose) they probably would have shared a laugh about it over some drinks. I think he took the show a bit too seriously. The TV show producers should probably do a better job of screening potential contestants.
This. In India going around raping people is a thing. So I wouldn't be surprised if beating women is a common thing in Russia.

I don't condone slapping woman but what is the correct response when a woman is abusing a man (both physically and mentally) and calling the police is not an option?
