Retired people are basically treated like children in this country for a reason. They shouldn't be lawmakers.
You want to be a bit clearer in what you are saying? McCain isn't retired, but he's pretty old. You do know that many retired people / OLD people goes on living years of happy and healthy lives.
Yea that's exactly what I want him to do, go on living a happy and healthy life not legislating and lawmaking which is anything but. If you get a discount at Luby's or the Movies, eat dinner at 4pm, etc... you shouldn't be running the country imo. At this point he's outdated, entrenched, jaded, obdurated, perverse, etc... and creating giant logjams for potential newcomers and new energy and ideas. More than age, I'm clearly in favor of term-limits for congress for many reasons despite the risks associated with the idea.
So it's both about being old and about term-limits and fresh ideas? The two aren't necessary related, you know. Someone might just decided to join public office at the age of 70 for the first time. I bet it probably has happen before. The term-limits and fresh ideas, that has some merits. The idea that old is a disqualifier doesn't.
I don't think this about McCain You don't want people with declining mental health running the country Nothing criel about honesty
No, you want at least mental stability. If we actually have that as law somehow, we wouldn’t have trump.
You need to stop exaggerating. Its getting democrats nowhere. He right now is trying to denuclearization the Korean peninsula. Whatever you think about him thats significant. He isn't secret double agent man or whatever
One the sharpest Senators is Diane Feinstein, who also happens to be the oldest at 84 years. The next five oldest are republicans (Grassley, Hatch, Shelby, Inhofe, and Roberts). Of the ten oldest Senators, seven are republicans. Of the twenty oldest, twelve are republicans. You so sure you want to discuss age limits? btw, the two oldest presidents to serve have been Ronald Reagan (took office at 69) and trump (took office at 70)... so what were you saying about age limits?
