Normally yes, in Jeff's case he just returned to that OKC borderline Allstar version of semi dominating inside and yeah Harden helped with setting up 3 pointers for sure.
Who the hell would we want? (random order) 3rd pick Bridges PJ Washington Who the hell would we get? Probably a mix of Batum/Zeller/Rozier/Monk and Bridges or Washington
Ahh I didn't even realize they had the 3rd pick. That is def something I would love to have. Also the two names you mentioned are the only players worth going for.
Saw Simmons say Rozier, Zeller and Monk for Westbrook. I actually wouldn’t be opposed. Scary Terry is a dog and can shoot the 3, Zeller is a solid big man and Monk is decent depth that might be able to trade Gordon for something.
Of all the 2020 strange things to happen, Russ Westbrook pretending to be the voice of leadership is as strange as any. This is a guy who couldn't get a team past the 1st round on his own, who when teamed up with talent blew big series leads mostly on his horrible play when up, or just didn't show up (this year). And i LIKE Westbrook. Dude had COVID and an injury and didn't complain. But the answer to the Rockets woes is simple. Russ needs to play amazing and shoot 34% from three, play solid defense, and not turn the ball over and the Rockets team, whomever the coach or whatever the culture, has a shot to win a ring. Fix yourself bro.
Rozier, PJ Washington and Cody Zeller for Westbrook works on the ESPN NBA trade machine. Cody's contract is for 2 years. I want Graham instead of Rozier, but the latter is good enough for me too. I'll settle for your suggestion, but only if the Rockets can get a good second round player from Charlotte in this year's draft.
I don't like the narrative of having to give up "assets" along with Russ to trade him. If that is true I think the rockets just need to bite the bullet, force him to stay for one more year. Then trade him when his contract is more "friendly". There will be a lot of drama around the team from the media to start with, but we see how Silas will truly be as a head coach with handling egos and also not trade prematurely like we did for CP3. However, this all has to be agreed on from our oh so great owner.
Me too obviously but i doubt that would happen, my guess is the asset we would get is one between Bridges and Washington (two players i like).
I would take PJ Washington instead of Monk. Monk isn't bad either. I don't think Cody is all that good, but he is a respectable player.
If I am the Hornets, I would push on getting Russ. When are they ever going to get a star to come in free agency. Maybe they can start something with Russ for a couple years, possibly attract someone younger and then keep the cycle going. The argument of having a clean cap sheet next season is nonsense if you cant get anyone of quality to come sign. Charlotte will just never be a free agent destination, at least without a star not already being there.
A small market team is one of the few spots where Westbrook could do at least some good. Hell I routinely forget the Hornets even exist, that franchise needs to do something to at least register on the national landscape. He's still good enough to get you to the playoffs out east. Any team hoping to actually compete for anything would be out of their mind to bring him on board.
And this is why after all this commotion I feel nothing is going to happen. Most of these GMs aren’t morons. They have watched Westbrook just like everyone else. Overpaid and still fancies himself as a top 10 guy when he is no where near it. Low end playoff entry with no chance of advancing, No one wants that without incentives. And we are just about out of incentives to add. I will be pretty surprised if we can sucker someone into taking him. Not impossible, but whoever does will immediately skyrocket to the honor of being called the dumbest GM in the league.
We all know Russ will never "fix himself", correct? It ain't happening. He almost turned the corner but went back to his old tricks of out of control, poor IQ, bad shot selection, shaky defense, too emotional Russ that he has always been. He is who he is at this point. Let's just hope MJ or some other owner/GM takes another chance on this guy to get him off the team. On a separate topic, I do think he is correct about not enough accountability in the Rockets organization. Harden seems to hold everyone else accountable but himself. Also don't know how critical Russ is of himself but he seems like a good teammate at motivating and never seems to throw others under the bus. Russ's problem is he makes it him against the world at the most inopportune times (playoffs) and ends up going from hero to goat in 2 seconds flat.
