My point exactly. I thought it was mildly dirty, myself, but not much more. It was no Robert Horry on Steve Nash that's for sure.
Even if Westbrook comes back, it might take him a few months to get comfortable again like what happened to Lin, except that Westbrook's "uncomfortable" state is still enough to put him at elite level.
Out 4-6 weeks to start the season http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...tbrook-surgery-oklahoma-city-thunder/2902953/
"the surgery" They went in and cleaned up. He already had the meniscus surgery. On the bright side, his meniscus has healed. Down side... 2nd time they've had to look inside.
"OKC says Russell Westbrook had arthroscopic surgery today on right knee after it swelled b/c of a loose stitch"
Right, and he didn't "wait so long to have the surgery". He had THE surgery and just started having complications for another one.
Agreed. Plentier of dirtier plays out there. Bev's move was the same one that Westbrook made to Lin in the regular season, and in fact KD's intentional foul (uncalled) after the whistle was dirtier and made me lose respect for Durant, especially after he got all the high fives afterwards, making it clear that it was premeditated in his intent to injure Lin.
Watch the play again. Beverley clearly lunges AFTER the whistle blows.
treerollins stated that bev's play was not dirty (inaccurate since beverley clearly lunges after the whistle). You are agreeing, yet you say that there are 'dirtier' players than beverley, implying that his play was in fact dirty. Which one is it? Was it a dirty play or not?
The point is whether he lunged trying to injure Westbrook, or just lunged to try to get the ball (eg to make a point, or because he had his mind set on doing it, and couldn't stop in time). I don't think Beverley is dirty. I don't recall a dirty play by him last season. He played tough defense, hustled and harrassed, and sometime got burnt as a result of it, but he never had a play where there was intention to hurt someone. Now Durant, on the other hand, while the damage was very little (if at all), clearly tried to go after Lin's injured shoulder after the whistle had gone off. That was intentional. Not characteristic for Durant, but he's been sliding since Harden left.
Most people think it was a cheap shot, and at the very least, it was reckless. Understandably a lot of fans hate Beverley. In any case, this is pretty much all he's known for.
Anytime you go under the knife it's called a surgery. You would have probably heard this referred to as a 'knee scope'. It happens all the time, they go in and drain fluid. No real threatening stuff here, and the 'surgery' didn't increase his time, his injury just complicated recovery.
