Russell Westbrook struggles after altercation with Kevin Durant

Westbrook is the most overrated PG in the game. As a SG, he's still overrated, but no where near as much. Dude has been a TO machine.

 

It's a good deal for Orlando.. it allows them to stay competitive also.

 

After the backlash from the playoffs, I'd call him one of the most underrated PGs in the game. Seriously, have you seen their offensive sets he has to run?

Option 1: Pass the ball to Durant at the top of the key.
Covered? Go to option 2 if shotclock <5.
Option 2: Error. Error. Abort.

(That being said, they did steal a play from Dallas to get KD the ball in crunch time - DailyThunder covered it this afternoon. It appears to involve a moving screen from WB on every attempt, but it worked.)

Seriously this guy is overrated. If it's wasn't for Durant this team is nothing. Westbrook is a terrible chuckers. NO should be smart and get his ass out of town.

 

I remember after 10-15 games last season many here were saying that WB was the best player on the Thunder. Interesting how popular opinion can yoyo.

 

The Thunder are devoted to keeping Westbrook (they could have moved him for either Rondo or Paul over the offseason), and I get that, since Westbrook is a franchise player and a superstar who is going to be an all NBA player for the next 9 or 10 years (and we in Houston know how hard that is to get).

However...

Westbrook is not a point guard, he is a 2 guard, and that is really the crux of the issue that OKC is having.

What OKC needs to do is trade Harden for a true point and move Westbrook to the 2.

And, as much as I love Kyle Lowry, I would def consider trading Kyle for Harden. Other roster moves would have to be made as well to adjust post trade, but I think Harden is going to be a star in this league (more so than Lowry), and I think OKC would be willing to throw more benefits into the trade in order to solve their Westbrook issues without having to give up on the Durant-Westbrook pairing.

 

Why wouldn't the Thunder just trade Westbrook for a "pure" PG, rather than J. Harden?

And there is no way the Thunder would trade Harden for Lowry. Harden trade value >>>> Lowry trade value.

 

Team would be nothing without Westbrook too unless he was traded for a star PG.

 

Westbrook is an awesome player.

Scott Brooks' is just a terrible offensive coach. If the Thunder had Rick Adelman, that team would be ridiculously scary.

 

Westbrook is not a point guard. You can say that.
But if you think Russell Westbrook sucks... smh.

 

he's on the bench now pouting, while the rest of the team including durant and perkins are cheering as hell for the 2nd team.

I'm a fan of westbrook, i hope its just a phase

 

I respect Steve Kerr for noting on several occasions tonight that OKC's half-court offensive sets are pathetic and that is the main obstacle they must overcome to be championship material.

 

Scott Brooks is a better coach than Adelman. His decisions on trusting certain players in certain plays helped their run last year, whereas Adelman has only 2 offensive plays-iso T-Mac, or feed it to Yao and gtfo
